Though a Long Island native, New York City is Billy Joel’s home. In fact, you could almost say Madison Square Garden is his residence, as he played a record-setting 73 consecutive monthly shows at the legendary venue between January 2014 and February 2020, a streak only interrupted by the pandemic. But the city is more than just the place he lives: It’s been the soul of much of his iconic discography over the last 50 years. Whether taking a Greyhound along the Hudson River, strolling The Village in tie dye jeans, or working Mr. Cacciatore’s down on Sullivan Street, Joel imbued numerous songs with the landscape of New York. His characters have cruised the Miracle Mile and Bedford-Stuy, while familiar locations like Astor Place and Mercer Street have appeared on his album covers. There’s har...

Nigo has shared another new song from his upcoming album I Know NIGO, and this time, Kid Cudi is the MC to the fashion designer’s club beat. Check out the duo’s collaboration “Want It Bad” below. Produced by Pharrell Williams, “Want It Bad” sees an über-autotuned Cudi proclaim his desires Veruca Salt-style over moody synths. “I want to sleep good at night/ I want a temple, that’s right,” he sings, as bass pulses. “I’m finally on the up and up/ Can not stop, can’t have enough,” he insists. In the accompanying music video, directed by Harrison Boyce, the duo speed through the streets of Paris in a fancy Porsche before hitting the club. Last month, Damon Albarn picked a fight with Taylor Swift over songwriting, and now Liam Gallagher, who as we all know cannot resist an opportunity to stoke a fire, is doing just that. In case you need a quick refresher, the Gorillaz co-founder kicked off the drama when he falsely claimed Swift “doesn’t write her own songs” in an interview with The New York Times, prompting the superstar to fire back, “I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this. I write ALL of my own songs. Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging. You don’t have to like my songs but it’s really fucked up to try and discredit my writing. WOW.” As part of his argument, Albarn held that there’s a distinction between being the sole writer on a track and co-writing with other artists — both of which Swift has done...
Doja Cat is not only a genre-blending artist, but also an impeccable actress. The star took to TikTok to play one of the app’s games, which prompts you to do an impression of a randomly selected celebrity. The “Woman” singer was tasked with doing her best takes on Drew Barrymore, Oprah, Kevin Hart, Samuel L. Jackson, Elvis Presley, Al Pacino and more — all of which she did in her characteristically goofy manner: a one-second facial expression or word. For example, her Presley impression caused her to lower her chin and look up, capturing the King of Rock & Roll’s smoldering stare, and when she took on Jackson’s likeness, she simply shouted, “What!” Explore Explore Doja Cat See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news @dojacat💦🥵♬ original sound –...
Months after the film’s theatrical release, the songs of Disney’s Encanto are still dominating the Billboard charts. “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” still reigns atop the Billboard Hot 100, but further down on the chart, the movie’s musical finale — “All of You” — sits at its No. 71 peak. The Lin Manuel Miranda-written song is credited to Stephanie Beatriz, Olga Merediz, John Leguizamo, Adassa, Maluma & Encanto Cast. Most of the ensemble gets a line in the song, which neatly ties up Encanto‘s many mysteries and struggles in a neat, sing-along bow. Below, find every word from the family affair: Look at this home, we need a new foundationIt may seem hopeless but we’ll get by just fineLook at this family, a glowing constellationSo full of stars and everybody wants to shine But the stars don’t...
