In between making TikToks about weird human behavior, living in blissful ignorance of astrology, and Ed Sheeran’s bizarre lyrical choices, Peach PRC is writing magnetic, fascinating, and incredibly catchy pop songs. The latest of these is “God Is A Freak,” which finds Peach investigating God’s so-called “omnipotence,” while pointing out how judgmental people in organized religion can be. And not only that, the song is hilarious, heartfelt, and a bit heavy all at once (“God is a bit of freak/ why’s he watching me getting railed on the couch/ staying pure for a wedding?/ He’s got fucked up priorities”). Peach has been reckoning with the logic and laws of God for a while in her TikTok videos, and “God Is A Freak” is certainly a dramatic statement of curiosity. But having come out as a lesbian...

Amazon Music has debuted a wide-ranging chat between Eddie Vedder and Bruce Springsteen, during which they broke down Vedder’s new album Earthling, the veteran rocker’s first solo studio album in more than a decade. During part of the conversation, The Boss questioned the Pearl Jam frontman about which bands and artists influenced his sound. “The stuff that got put in my blender, it started maybe, like, Jackson 5 when I was a kid and then [The] Beatles… growing up, and then The Who took over big time,” Vedder explained, before adding, “And then my friend,” gesturing to Springsteen. (“Ah, grazie,” the legend replied with a chuckle.) From there, Vedder continued charting his string of musical inspirations, citing The Band, Split Ends, Talking Heads, Sonic Youth, and Fugazi. “And I guess...

Eminem had nothing but good things to say about Kendrick Lamar ahead of teaming up with the rapper for the Super Bowl LVI halftime show. While speaking to Sway Calloway on his own Shade 45 SiriusXM station, Em sang his co-headliner’s praises. “Kendrick, to me, is the most electrifying vocalist of this generation. Would you agree with that?” the host asked, to which the rapper responded, “I absolutely would agree. I would agree with that. Kendrick is at the very, very top tier of lyricists. Not just of this generation, but of all time.” The two rap icons will be joined by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Mary J. Blige on Sunday for an all-star halftime performance shining the spotlight on some most influential hip-hop and R&B music ever made. Their songs “Rap God” and “HUMBLE.” were featur...
“Memphis is already past ready for justice in this case,” Hagerman said. Both Johnson and Smith have prior felony convictions for violent crimes. Johnson, 23, was traveling on a highway in Indiana on Jan. 11 when he was stopped and arrested on a murder warrant outside of Terre Haute by the U.S. Marshals Service, authorities said. Smith, 32, was arrested in December on an auto-theft warrant involving the vehicle used in Young Dolph’s killing. Both defendants were being held without bond. Juni Ganguli, Johnson’s lawyer, said he spoke with his client after the hearing. “I don’t think anyone’s ever happy when they’re indicted for first-degree murder, so he’s sad and confused,” he said. Ganguli and Smith’s lawyer, Michael Scholl, are both well known in the Memphis legal world and both have work...
