Machine Gun Kelly, Anuel AA, Quavo Set for NBA All-Star Celebrity Game
Machine Gun Kelly, Jack Harlow, Anuel AA and Quavo will bounce into The Land next week for the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. MGK, the 6’4″ Cleveland native, and his fellow hip-hoppers will showcase their ball skills alongside the likes of country artists Kane Brown and Jimmie Allen, comedian Tiffany Haddish, actor Ranveer Singh, skateboarder Nyjah Huston, and Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb. Quavo, a founding member of rap trio Migos, is a veteran of the run-and-gun “Celebrity” game, with four previous appearances under his belt. The two teams will line up next Friday (Feb. 18) at Wolstein Center in Cleveland, and are respectively coached by retired NBA superstars Dominique Wilkins and Bill Walton. Kanye West’s Live Album Late Orchestration Hits US Streaming Services for First Time
Good news for the “Make Kanye 2006 Again” camp: If Donda wasn’t really your thing, Late Orchestration, Kanye West’s classic 2006 live album, has quietly been uploaded to Apple Music and TIDAL. West recorded Late Orchestration — which is comprised of songs from his first two albums, The College Dropout and Late Registration — at the famous Abbey Road Studios before an audience of 300. In addition to guest appearances from John Legend, Lupe Fiasco, GLC, and Consequence (no relation), West was backed by a 17-piece, all-woman orchestra in a trailblazing blend of hip-hop and classical music. Snoop Dogg Acquires Death Row Records
Snoop Dogg is going back to his roots with his latest business venture. Today, the rapper-entrepreneur announced that he’s acquired the brand of his former label, Death Row Records, from MNRK Music Group, an entity controlled by the private equity firm Blackstone. Variety reports that Snoop Dogg’s ownership of the Death Row brand will also likely extend to some of its music rights. The rapper addressed the deal in a statement, saying: “I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value. Lil Dicky has announced that he will be performing a “Quartertime Show” during the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 13. Kanye West’s Live Album ‘Late Orchestration’ Arrives on Streaming
Ye’s Late Orchestration album has made it to streaming services 16 years after its initial release. Recorded in 2006, the live album features renditions of tracks from his first two full-length releases, 2004’s The College Dropout and 2005’s Late Registration. For the performance, West’s rapping was backed by a seventeen-member all-female string orchestra. He tapped John Legend, Lupe Fiasco, GLC and Consequence as guest artists. The project was previously only available in the form of a CD or DVD. The CD contained 12 singles, along with a live bonus recording of “Gold Digger.” The DVD, meanwhile, packed in concert footage, interviews and exclusive music videos for the first four singles off of Late Registration.
