Nicki Minaj Reveals Why Her Kanye West Collab “New Body” Was Never Released

Nicki Minaj has offered more details on her unreleased Kanye West collab “New Body,” which was initially meant to appear on Yandhi. Speaking in a recent interview with Hot 106, the rapper explained that while the teasers for “New Body” were well received, it was just not fit for Ye’s gospel era. “I respect everybody and where they are in life, where they are spiritually,” Minaj shared. “The public adored ‘New Body.’ Like, ‘New Body’ is the biggest hit record that never came out. So what I thought was interesting was that Kanye made me write my ‘New Body’ verse four times over in order to fit into where he was creatively and spiritually in his life, right, only to then go on the internet a few months later to see him on ‘Drink Champs.’” She added, “Had ‘New Body’ been out when he was not in...

R Kelly Caught COVID-19 in Jail

R Kelly has caught more than a case. As The Daily Beast reports, the disgraced singer contracted COVID-19 in a New York City jail. He is vaccinated, and so far there’s nothing to suggest that his symptoms are severe. Kelly’s lawyer Jennifer Bonjean gave her client’s health update in court, asking a judge for more time as they try to overturn his sex trafficking conviction. “It is vitally important that Mr. Kelly meaningfully participate in his post-trial defense,” she said, noting that because of his COVID-19 diagnosis, she wouldn’t be able to speak with Kelly until the day the motions are due. Bonjean recently represented Bill Cosby during his successful appeal, after which he was released due to a procedural technicality. She’s helping Kelly as he faces up to life in prison. He...

He wants Marilyn to play what he makes, and then Ye will take parts of that and sample parts of that and use parts of that, like he did [when making the album] Yeezus.” Industrial musician and producer Tim Skold, who’s been a member of Manson’s eponymous band and KM...

Mixed in with the more familiar artists to Rock Hall voters, though, are a handful of first-timers — ranging from obvious rock icons to hitmakers more associated with the worlds of pop, country, R&B and rap — which means voters will have some interesting (and likely challenging) decisions to make in the months to come. Here’s how Billboard breaks down the likeliness of the nominees for induction, listed from least to most likely.
