Eminem is giving the album art for his storied discography a makeover. The rapper has tapped British artist Damien Hirst to redesign 12 of his album covers in honor of Interscope Records’ 30th anniversary. The lineup includes the 8 Mile soundtrack, the eponymous The Marshall Mathers LP and his most recent full-length release, 2020’s Music To Be Murdered By. Each of the 12 covers is redone in Hirst’s distinct contemporary style and features colorful iconography inspired by the albums’ themes and lyricism. Slim Shady isn’t the only artist receiving the Hirst treatment. Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish are among those whose albums will be commissioned new covers on behalf of Interscope as part of the ongoing celebration. The Decemberists are hitting the road in Summer 2022 for their whimsically titled “ARISE FROM THE BUNKERS! TOUR.” Marking their first jaunt since 2018, it essentially serves as a stand-in for their 20th anniversary trek, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kicking off in Bonner, Montana on August 3rd, the North American tour will make stops in cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, and Nashville before wrapping up on August 28th in Atlanta. Brigid Mae Power will serve as the opener for each date. As Sir Elton John revealed in his Instagram stories, he’s tested positive for COVID-19, and has been forced to postpone two upcoming shows on his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road: The Final Tour.” “I have contracted COVID and so have had to reschedule my shows in Dallas,” he wrote. “Fortunately, I’m fully vaccinated and boosted and my symptoms are mild so I’m fully expecting to be able to make the Arkansas shows this weekend. The Used and Less Than Jake will top this year’s Kraken Fest in Orlando. Jazz pianist, session musician and bandleader Bobbe Long “Beegie” Adair, who played on over 100 records throughout her six-decade career, has died. She was 84. Her manager, Monica Ramey, said Adair died Sunday in Franklin, Tenn. A cause of death was not immediately released. Speaking exclusively with People, Deborah Aday spoke of the “Bat Out of Hell” singer’s good nature, and the “gut-wrenching” experience that was his passing last Thursday (Jan. 20), at the age of 74. “Some of my fondest memories will always be about how we so often laughed, and how we brought out the silliness and playfulness in each other,” she tells the celebrity news title. “Michael was a hugger – such a physically affectionate and kind man, and I’m grateful that he brought out those traits in me.” The couple married in 2007, and “there wasn’t a day that went by that we didn’t tell the other how much we loved them.
