Mac DeMarco Covers “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”: Stream

Mac DeMarco is back with a new addition to his Christmas covers cannon. This year, he’s taken on the 1943 classic “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” Written by Kim Gannon and Walter Kent, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” was originally recorded by Bing Crosby, centering around Crosby’s slow crooning and a swell of lush strings. In DeMarco’s chilled-out version, the singer’s go-to piano adds a jazzy touch to the standard, and a bent-note guitar solo makes the song sound like a DeMarco original. In the accompanying music video, an anthropomorphic inflatable tree traverses the streets before setting up shop in a Christmas tree farm. Check out the video below. Rick Ross Takes Bathroom Break Mid-Interview, Never Returns

It’s nothing too out of the ordinary for artists to make a getaway mid-interview, but Rick Ross pulled off possibly the best Irish Goodbye in recent memory. During an appearance on The 85 South Comedy Show last week, the rapper told hosts DC Young Fly, Karlous Miller, and Chico Bean that he needed to use the bathroom, only to never return. All seemed to be going well in the interview, with Ross happily engaging in conversation as weed and snacks made the rounds among the group. After gladly discussing his early singles “Hustlin’” and “Push It,” Ross asked to be excused: “Let me use the bathroom one time,” he said, taking a swig of his drink before walking off the set. After a few minutes of the hosts passing the time on their own, a crew member emerged to inform them that Ross has ex...

Hit-Boy Speaks on Kanye West’s ‘Drink Champs’ Comments About Big Sean

Hit-Boy has opened up about Kanye West‘s Drink Champs comments towards Big Sean, revealing that it “was confusing” as they were together just days before the episode aired. “Man, we just talked before that Big Sean shit came out on Drink Champs,” the producer told DJ Akademiks in a recent episode of his Off the Record podcast. “That was confusing for me, because me and Sean was with him for two days straight and he had already recorded the Drink Champs so it was weird for him to not say nothing. That shit threw me off.” He continued that he thought it was “kinda interesting” when the episode aired, adding, “Man if I’m feeling that way I’m gonna just be like, ‘I don’t want you in my energy right now, I don’t want you around me homie.’ But everybody get down different, it is what it is. Brian Eno on NFTs: “Now Artists Can Become Little Capitalist Assholes as Well”

Add Brian Eno to your list of stars charmingly unimpressed with NFTs. When asked about today’s hottest economic scam in an interview with The Crypto Syllabus, the legendary musician said he wouldn’t be dabbling in the trend any time soon. “I’ve been approached several times to ‘make an NFT.’ So far nothing has convinced me that there is anything worth making in that arena,” Eno said. “‘Worth making’ for me implies bringing something into existence that adds value to the world, not just to a bank account. If I had primarily wanted to make money I would have had a different career as a different kind of person. I probably wouldn’t have chosen to be an artist. NFTs seem to me just a way for artists to get a little piece of the action from global capitalism, our own cute little version of...
