R.I.P. Leonard “Hub” Hubbard, Longtime Bassist of The Roots Dead at 62

Leonard “Hub” Hubbard, the bass player known for his work in The Roots, has died at the age of 62. His wife, Stephanie, told The Philadelphia Inquirer that he died of multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer. Hubbard was first diagnosed with the disease in 2007 and had been in remission until last month. “It happened quickly,” his wife told the local Action News station. “He didn’t suffer a lot.” Raised in West Philadelphia, Hubbard joined The Roots in 1992, back when they were called The Square Roots. FKA twigs and The Weeknd have teamed up for a new song called “Tears in the Club.” Produced by Arca, Cirkut, and El Guincho, the song comes with a music video directed by Amber Grace Johnson, which you can watch below. “Tears in the club ’cause your love has got me fucked up,” FKA twigs sings over ringing piano and heavy bass. Drake’s Performance From Kanye’s Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert Mysteriously Cut From Amazon Prime

According to reports, Drake‘s performance from Kanye West‘s Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert has been cut from the Amazon Prime video stream. The reports go on to note that the 24 minutes of Drake’s set from the monumental event, held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum December 9, is notably missing. It is currently unclear why the video stream on Amazon‘s streaming platform has removed the Canadian artist’s performance. Fan speculation has moved towards Drake and Ye renewing their beef but it is more likely that Drake did not sign to have his live be available for on-demand streaming or an exclusivity deal clash tied to Drake’s other music ventures. The ten people killed at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival all died as a result of “compression asphyxia,” the Harris County Medical Examiner announced in a report released on Thursday. Compression asphyxia is caused when respiration is prevented by external pressure on the body, limiting oxygen supply to the lungs. Such was the case when the densely packed crowd at Astroworld surged to the stage, causing numerous individuals to become crushed and trampled.
