Before A$AP Rocky had enough clout to date Rihanna and share the stage with Red Hot Chili Peppers, he was a burgeoning rapper whose 2011 debut mixtape was beginning to garner some heavy buzz. Now, that project — titled Live. Love. A$AP — will finally see the light of day on major streaming services in celebration of its 10th anniversary. The Harlem native born Rakim Mayers first shared Live. Love. A$AP as a free download, spawning some of his early career highlights like “Purple Swag” and “Peso.” That same year, he famously signed a $3 million record deal with RCA and Polo Grounds Music. Per Sony, Live. Love. A$AP will finally hit Apple Music and Spotify on October 29th, just in time to fill out your Halloween party playlists. The streaming version of the mixtape will also f...
As if being a founding member of Radiohead weren’t enough, Jonny Greenwood is one of the most sought-after film score composers in the biz. Today, he’s shared two cuts from his soundtrack to Jane Campion’s forthcoming Western drama, The Power of the Dog, which will accompany the film’s limited release in theaters on November 17th. They’re called “West” and “25 Years.” Those who remember Greenwood’s soundtrack work from 2018’s Phantom Thread score will recognize the Radiohead guitarist’s penchant for pared-down, string-heavy compositions here. The soundtrack for The Power of the Dog, however, expectedly features some more country-themed elements, such as a fiddle and banjo. The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as an aggressive rancher named Phil Burbank, who must come to terms with...
Before we get to listen to that living room club album, Björk is making a few “stops” on a virtual tour with an orchestral global live stream concert series. The four-show series kicked off in Iceland from the Harpa Reykjavík Concert Hall on October 11th. After having to reschedule the series due to COVID-19 regulations in Iceland, Björk has noted that the series is a celebration of “healthily exiting quarantine together.” During the Sunday, October 24th concert, Björk, joined by the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra, performed a baker’s dozen of songs from her albums Medulla, Biophilia, and Utopia. Adorned in a regal blue Balenciaga dress and a gold headpiece, Björk stood out amongst the dark stage, and gave the type of self-assured performance that we’ve certainly missed from the artist ...

Write this one down: Should you ever be lucky enough to run into Sir Paul McCartney in the wild, don’t ask him for an autograph. In a recent interview with Reader’s Digest, the Beatles legend said he’s effectively imposed a ban on signing mementos and taking haphazard selfies with fans. “It always struck me as a bit strange — ‘here, can I write your name down on the back of this till receipt please?’ Why? We both know who I am,” Macca said, adding that he doesn’t understand the appeal of grainy selfies, either. But don’t mistake these brush-offs for arrogance; the 79-year-old songwriting icon just wants to take that precious time to get to know his fans on a more personal level, instead. “What you’ve usually got is a ropey photo with a poor backdrop and me looking a bit miserable,” he went...

Björk is opening up about what fans can expect from her upcoming tenth studio album. In a new interview airing before her livestreamed residency with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, the singer said the coming LP is “for people who are making clubs at home in their living room, restricted to their ‘Christmas bubble.’” Björk’s next full-length release will serve as a follow-up to 2017’s Utopia. And while the Icelandic singer-songwriter is keeping many of the details close to her swan dress, she did hint at its sound in her own unique way — describing it as “a man who was headbanging, then sat down again and had another glass of red wine, and everyone is home by ten o’clock, done with the dancing and everything.” Advertisement Related Video “Most of the songs I made are at 80-90 be...
