Parents Start Petition to Remove Iron Maiden-Loving School Principal for “Satanic” Imagery

A group of “concerned parents” in Canada have started a petition to remove a high school principal who loves Iron Maiden, claiming that the imagery associated with the legendary metal band is “satanic.” Sharon Burns, principal of Eden High School in St. Catherines, Ontario, has proudly displayed her love of Iron Maiden and heavy metal on her social media pages. Her Twitter handle reads, “Principal at Eden High School. Growth Mindset Practitioner. Fueled by metal & ska. & chickens.” One image she posted shows her flashing the metal horns hand gesture in front of an Iron Maiden license plate and banner. Chicago MC Mick Jenkins has shared a fresh single called “Contacts,” which serves as the lead track from his newly announced album, Elephant in the Room. Due out October 29th via Cinematic Music Group, the new LP follows last year’s The Circus EP. R. Kelly’s Music Sees Major Spike in Streaming and Sales Following Guilty Verdict

R. Kelly may have been found guilty last month in his federal sex crimes trial, but the news seems to have caused a major spike in his sales and streaming numbers. According to streaming data provided by Billboard, the disgraced artist’s catalog experienced a 14% rise in streaming during the week of his September 27th conviction, as well as a 55% rise in radio play across the country.
