Brandi Carlile Performs Gorgeous Cover of Joni Mitchell’s “Woodstock”: Watch

Brandi Carlile has always been upfront about her love for Joni Mitchell, often playing songs by the folk legend onstage while on tour. Over the weekend, though, Carlile played a particularly special set for SiriusXM’s Small Stage concert series where she broke out a show-stopping cover of “Woodstock,” an underrated Mitchell song from her 1970 album Ladies of the Canyon. Watch a replay of her rendition below. For her take on the cut, Carlile and her bandmates drew “Woodstock” out into a nearly six-minute-long scorcher. Over with some wavering keyboard notes, Carlile opened the Mitchell song with subdued gusto and heart — which is as to be expected, after all, considering she’s famous for putting on incredible live sets — before her bandmates kicked in with big country rock guitar riffs and ...

Kourtney Kardashian turned heads by sporting a gory Cannibal Corpse shirt when she stepped out with boyfriend Travis Barker a few days ago. Now, founding Cannibal Corpse singer Chris Barnes has labeled both the reality TV star and the Blink-182 drummer “posers.” The eldest of the Kardashian sisters sported a long-sleeve black shirt with the gruesome artwork from Cannibal Corpse’s 1990 debut album, Eaten Back to Life, as she walked hand in hand with Barker, who repped punk pioneers The Cramps with his white tee. Barnes, who has fronted Six Feet Under since Cannibal Corpse parted ways with him in 1995, shared the pic of Kourtney and Travis on his Twitter, and simply wrote “Posers.” Advertisement Related Video It’s not the first time the Kardashians have been called out for wearing metal shir...

Corey Taylor Debuts Creepy New Mask at Slipknot’s First Show in 18 Months

Slipknot played a concert for the first time in 18 months on Saturday night (September 4th), performing a headlining set at the Rocklahoma festival. For the band’s long-awaited return to the stage, singer Corey Taylor sported a creepy new mask. Taylor is coming off a recent bout with COVID-19, having contracted the virus at the end of his summer solo tour. After a rough battle in which he said “it’s the worst I’ve ever been sick in my life,” he thankfully reported that he tested negative about 10 days ago, giving him the all-clear to tour with Slipknot. The singer believed he likely caught COVID from a “selfish” concertgoer. For Slipknot’s show at Rocklahoma, Taylor rocked a skeletal mask with beady eyes and Chelsea-smile stitching around the mouth. The change comes in the middle of the ba...

BottleRock Pulls the Plug on Guns N’ Roses and Dave Grohl After Breaking Curfew

Imagine pulling the plug on Guns N’ Roses and Dave Grohl performing “Paradise City.” That’s the reality organizers of the BottleRock Napa Valley Festival faced after GN’R’s Saturday night headlining set blew passed the 10:00 pm curfew. Ahead of Foo Fighters’ own headlining set on Sunday, Grohl made a surprise cameo during GN’R’s encore performance of “Paradise City.” However, as Napa Valley has a strict 10:00 p.m. curfew, the band only got through about half of the song before organizers were forced to pull the plug. Undeterred, Axl Rose continued yelling out the song’s lyrics before eventually walking off the stage. Watch fan-captured footage below. After feuding in the 90s, Grohl and GN’R have become quite chummy in recent years. Grohl famously lent his throne to Axl Rose after the GN’R ...

Among the acts already in middle Tennessee announcing last-minute shows are Leon Bridges, The Band Camino, and Zach Bryan. Stretching over four hours, the show allowed ample time onstage for all the artists. As Phoebe Bridgers put it, glancing at the nearly 7,000 people gathered in downtown Nashville, “Bonnaroo would’ve been tight…but this...
