NYC Homecoming Concert Canceled Due to Hurricane
The remainder of We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert has been canceled due to severe weather caused by Hurricane Henri. Organized by Clive Davis, the massive event in Central Park celebrated New York City’s re-opening following the COVID-19 pandemic. While acts like Journey, LL Cool J, Santana, Andrea Bocelli, and Barry Manilow did take the stage, the event was canceled before headliners including Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Patti Smith, Elvis Costello, and The Killers were able to perform. The capacity crowd of 60,000 were asked to vacate the concert’s grounds and seek shelter. Man Dies After Falling off Balcony at Dead and Company Concert
A man died Friday after falling off a balcony at New York’s Citi Field during a Dead and Company concert. A police source told the New York Daily News that the man “attempted a body flip, fell, and landed on the balcony below.” He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Ministry have unveiled a cover of The Stooges‘ “Search and Destroy” as the latest single from their upcoming album, Moral Hygiene. Frontman Al Jourgensen and company put an industrial stamp on the proto-punk classic. The track features a guest spot by Billy Idol guitarist Billy Morrison, and the decision to cover the tune was inspired by a performance at a benefit show in 2019. “We rehearsed it and the song was perfect but the show was running late and by the time we got onstage, I was in half time and singing the lyrics twice as slow,” explained Jourgensen in a press release. “Fortunately Billy and Dave Navarro are professionals and they realized what was going on and sort of covered for me but I felt horrible.
