Images from Chris Cornell’s last photoshoot are set to be minted and auctioned off as a pair of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The portraits were taken by Randall Slavin just before the Soundgarden frontman’s untimely passing in 2017. Instead of publishing them, the photographer has held onto the photos until now, and is only turning them into NFTs with the permission of the late rocker’s wife, Vicky Cornell. Titled “Until We Disappear” and “White Roses for My Soul to Keep,” the two cryptographs are slated to be auctioned off tomorrow (August 5th) at 12:00 p.m. ET. “Disappear” is a moving image of Cornell against a background of clouds, while “My Soul” is a video flip-book of every frame Slavin shot of the singer during the shoot. You can check out previews of both, as well as a trailer for t...
Swedish-English singer Mabel confirmed her It girl status at the 2021 Love Island villa by wearing a sultry Mugler catsuit during her special performance. Following her win for Best Female Solo Artist at the 2020 BRIT Awards, it’s only fitting that the High Expectations singer wore the most sought-after designer of the summer for her Love Island debut. It’s no secret that Mugler’s fetishistic designs are in the midst of a renaissance. It all started when Cardi B wore the iconic Oyster dress from the brand’s autumn/winter 1995 collection to the 2019 Grammys, and then Kim Kardashian wore an archival Mugler wet-look dress to the 2019 Met Gala a few months later. The illusion catsuit worn by Mabel on Love Island looks to be from Mugler’s spring/summer 2021 collect...

Two legends collide as Bad Bunny has linked up with bachata band Aventura for a new song titled “Volví.” Watch the accompanying music video below. The ballad features Aventura breakout star Romeo Santos trading lovelorn vocals with Bad Bunny. “Yo sé que al final,” Santos sings. “A mí no me olvidas tan siquiera un poco/ Al final, baby, tú extrañas cómo yo te toco.” In English, this translates to, “I know in the end/ You won’t forget me not even a little bit/ In the end, baby, you miss how I touch you.” Advertisement Related Video Prior to its release, Santos teased the track on Twitter by declaring it would “close out the Aventura chapter in a memorable way.” In 2019, the supergroup formally reunited after ...
Guns N’ Roses surprised fans with a rare performance of the Chinese Democracy-era cut “Silkworms” during their performance at Fenway Park on Tuesday night. Though Axl Rose introduced “Silkworms” as “a new Guns N’ Roses song,” its origins actually date back two decades. The song was first performed live way back in 2001, and various versions have since leaked online. Tuesday night’s setlist referred to the song as “Absurd,” but its chorus clearly pulls from “Silkworms.” Guns N’ Roses are known to be working on a new album, their first featuring Axl Rose alongside Slash and Duff McKagan since 1991’s Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II. Whether or not “Silkworms”/”Absurd” finds its way on to the album’s final tracklist remains to be seen. Advertisement Related Video In the ...

On Friday night (July 30th), Rise Against and Descendents played one of the first big rock shows back in New York City since the pandemic started. The veteran punk acts rocked a sold-out concert at The Rooftop at Pier 17 on a beautiful night in the Big Apple. The show marked the second proper concert for Rise Against and first for Descendents since the concert industry came to a halt in early 2020. Thankfully, a clear night with low humidity greeted the bands and the fans, as the Empire State Building could be seen to the left of the stage, while the Brooklyn Bridge was visible to the right. Rising Los Angeles punk act Spanish Love Songs opened the evening’s festivities with a set of anthemic songs, including cuts from their most recent album, 2020’s Brave Faces Everyone. For many in ...
The Offspring have apparently parted ways with drummer Pete Parada. According to the stickman, it’s because he has chosen not to get vaccinated against COVID-19 due to medical reasons. Parada, who had been the band’s drummer since 2007, explained his departure in a lengthy statement on Instagram, saying that his medical history and advice from his doctor has led him to choose not to get vaccinated at this time. He added that, as a result, the rest of the band feels he’s “unsafe to be around, in the studio, and on tour.” Back in April, The Offspring released their latest album, Let the Bad Times Roll, which marked their first studio LP in nine years. It’s also the first Offspring album where Parada played drums on the entire effort, having previously appeared on just four of the tracks on 2...

Directed by Emmy nominee Sacha Jenkins (Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men), Bitchin’ will premiere on Friday, September 3rd. Most of the newly revealed first trailer focuses on the more likable aspects of the man born James Johnson, Jr.: his charisma, his activism, and his irresistible songwriting. But there are also hints of what one person calls the “demon… That was drug-possessed James Johnson.” This is in reference to multiple accusations of sexual assault, as well as his 1993 conviction for kidnapping and torturing two separate women under the influence of crack cocaine, fo...
