A “Redneck Rave” in Kentucky, billed as “America’s wildest and craziest country party,” ended in mass arrests for drug possession, strangulation, and throat slitting. Via the Lexington Herald-Leader, one man was even impaled through the abdomen. The event took place in Edmonson County in a town so small it doesn’t have a stoplight. The five-day festival was organized by country rapper Justin Time, and was supposed to boast “mud, music and mayhem.” According to Sheriff Shane Doyle, he knew it would be trouble after performing a routine search on the very first arrivals. “The first vehicle that came through, we found meth, marijuana, and an open alcohol container,” he said. “And then one of the occupants had two active warrants… We were like ‘well, this doesn’t bode well for the we...
By Lucas Villa In Latin rap, a genre largely dominated by cishet male artists in the spotlight, Villano Antillano represents the communities still in the shadows: the LGBTQ+ community and women. The Puerto Rican rapper, who is transgender and nonbinary, centers her local community in her playful new music video for the thumping track “Muñeca,” shining through with every color of the rainbow. She teams up with Ana Macho, another Boricua artist, in the pink-hued visual that finds them running a sex shop with other trans folks as customers line up around the corner. They proudly reclaim the word “muñeca,” the term often disparagingly applied to trans sex workers in Puerto Rico. Since breaking out in 2018, Villano, whose name translates to “villain” in Engli...

Chris Brown has been accused of hitting a woman in Los Angeles, TMZ reports and NBC News confirms. According to a spokesperson for the LAPD, officers responded to reports of an argument at a residence in the San Fernando Valley. The altercation is being investigated as a battery, though it’s not clear at this time if Brown will face charges. Via TMZ’s anonymous police sources — who are often, though certainly not always, accurate — the alleged victim received a smack across her head that caused part of her weave to come out. Reportedly, she sustained no injuries, and Brown has not been arrested. If true, the troubled singer would likely face misdemeanor charges — if he were charged at all. No other relevant information can be confirmed at this time, but the story will be updated as news co...
