Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, Nigerian superstar popularly known as Wizkid, has finally received his Grammy award plaque. The famous Singer won the best Music video award at the 63rd Grammy award for his collaboration with Beyoncé and her daughter, Blue Ivy, in “Brown skin girl”. Wizkid had his first Nomination in 2015, when he collaborated with Drake in his Album Views. He also brought the trophy home back then. Critics of Star boy as he is fondly called have argued that he is not worthy to be called a Grammy winner because he got both plaques through collaboration but his fans rose in his defence. Kevin Parker is putting on his lab coat and going on tour. The Tame Impala mastermind has rescheduled “Phase I Rushium® Trials” — aka, the band’s North American tour that is finally going down in 2021. The “trials,” as indicated by the press release, will begin this September at Bonnaroo. The news was teased by a clip Tame Impala shared yesterday, showing Parker touring a medical lab. After releasing their last album, The Slow Rush, in February 2020, Parker and company were forced to cancel the tour behind it due to the coronavirus. They were supposed to hit North America this summer, but those dates got postponed, too. Wu-Tang Clan members GZA, Raekwon, and Ghostface Killah are uniting for the “3 Chambers Tour”, a “tri-headlining” outing which will see each rapper perform material from his respective classic solo album. GZA will perform tracks from Liquid Swords; Raekwon will run through Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, and Ghostface Killah will revisit Ironman. Get ready, y’all! Limp Bizkit are taking their show on the road this summer for a month’s worth of headlining US gigs with support from rising metal band Spiritbox. The jaunt, dubbed “The Limited Post Pandemic Popup Party”, will feature Fred Durst and company playing a number of intimate venues. The tour kicks off July 29th at the Metro in Chicago, and runs through an August 24th gig at the Palladium in Los Angeles.
