Attention Parks and Recreation fans! Scott Tanner, lead singer of Land Ho! (portrayed by Jeff Tweedy of Wilco) has dropped his new single “Cold Water” with a guest appearance by none other than Duke Silver. The last time Parks and Rec viewers saw Land Ho! was admittedly a while back, when Leslie Knope (played by Amy Poehler) and Mouse Rat frontman Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt) convinced the band to reunite for Pawnee and Eagleton’s Unity Concert in the Season 6 finale “Moving Up”. Feist to Debut New Music During Summer 2021 Live Residency MULTITUDES
Leslie Feist has announced MULTITUDES, an upcoming live residency that will feature intimate performances of all-new songs. The limited capacity, in-the-round production was developed by the Canadian singer-songwriter with designer Rob Sinclair, who has worked with David Byrne, Peter Gabriel, and Tame Impala. It will feature custom 18-point D&B Soundscape immersive audio and is described in a press release as an “intimate, radically communal, and topsy-turvy concert that muddies the roles between audience and performer.” Musicians Todd Dahlhoff and Amir Yaghmai will accompany Feist during the shows. The Killers have joined forces with Bruce Springsteen to re-record their song “A Dustland Fairytale”. Alien Weaponry have announced their highly anticipated sophomore album, Tangaroa, out September 17th via Napalm Records. The New Zealand band also shared the music video for the title track. Spotify launches Clubhouse competitor Greenroom
Spotify’s live audio app, Greenroom, formally launches today on iOS and Android, marking the company’s first real attempt at creating a social media platform. The social audio app, which is similar to Clubhouse, allows users to host live conversations about sports, music, and culture. Today’s launch doesn’t come with a marquee creator announcement or specific event planned, but instead, the company is taking the opportunity to encourage people to sign up and figure out how they’ll want to use the app. Some of its core functionality, a person close to the situation says, will eventually make its way to the actual Spotify app, so the team will monitor what happens in Greenroom closely. Indigo De Souza has announced her new full-length album, Any Shape You Take, out August 27th on Saddle Creek Records.
