Reading and Leeds Festival is still planning to go forward with their August dates, but with some COVID-19 protocols that The Stone Roses’ frontman Ian Brown will have problems with: namely, vaccine cards. In a new interview with the BBC, Reading and Leeds organizer Melvin Benn said that twin festivals will “almost certainly” require attendees to show proof that they received their COVID-19 shots with special vaccination passports. The UK is on track to lift pandemic restrictions in the coming months, which would be just in time for Reading and Leeds’ weekend from August 27th through the 29th. “I’m taking the prime minister at his word that from June the legal restrictions will be off and as he and the culture secretary said: ‘We are looking forward to a summer of fun’,” Benn told&nbs...
Brian Rohan, the San Francisco “dope lawyer” who represented celebrity clients like Grateful Dead and author Ken Kesey, has died at 84. He passed away at home in the Bay Area after a six-year-long battle with cancer, confirmed his daughter Kathleen Jolson. “My father grew up very straitlaced, and he was fascinated by what he saw in the Haight. He was looking for somebody to help, and he saw that nobody was there to protect the kids flocking to San Francisco,” Jolson told the San Francisco Chronicle. “He worked until the last day of his life, clutching his phone in one hand and his iPad in the other. He fought for his clients, he fought for his friends, and he fought for what he thought was right.” Born in Tacoma, Washington in 1936, Rohan spent his high school years rocking the debate team...
Framing Britney Spears, the documentary exploring Britney Spears’ controversial conservatorship, premiered back on February 5th. Since then, nearly everyone has commented on the film, including her father Jamie Spears, media stars, and even Justin Timberlake. However, one crucial voice has been missing from the discourse on the documentary — Britney Spears herself — and now she’s finally speaking up about it. In a new post on Instagram, Spears revealed that she’s only seen parts of Framing Britney Spears. Understandably, she had been putting it off due to the overwhelming nature of its content and the massive response from viewers. “My life has always been very speculated… watched… and judged really my whole life,” reads the caption. “I didn’t watch the documentary but from what ...
TMZ has obtained video of an altercation between Migos rapper Quavo and Saweetie. The incident took place in an elevator in Saweetie’s apartment building in 2020. In the surveillance footage, Quavo and Saweetie struggle over possession of an orange case. Saweetie appears to take a swing at Quavo, at which point he pushes her to the ground. Saweetie remains on the ground for several minutes — including when the elevator doors first open — before slowly picking herself up and limping out of view. At no point in the footage does Quavo offer Saweetie assistance. Quavo and Saweetie had been dating since 2018 but broke up earlier this month. In an Instagram post, Saweetie implied that Quavo had been unfaithful. Related You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we r...
During the coronavirus pandemic, Swiftfoot have been hosting a monthly livestream series called “The Fantastic Not Traveling Music Show”. It’s an inventive tour of sorts that’s seen them holing up on moving boats, gathering around late-night campfires, and dressing up for a Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou-themed stage while they treat fans to live renditions of their songs. For their latest edition, Switchfoot got extra creative and pulled off arguably one of the rarest type of livestream concerts out there: a gig performed while riding on a hot-air balloon. Over the weekend, Switchfoot managed to play an eight-song setlist while soaring over 3,500 feet in the air, despite being stuffed into what’s essentially a comically oversized wicker basket. Afterwards, they launched into a four-song e...
HipHopWired Featured Video Source: YouTube / Youtube Lil Nas X wanted to test just how tolerant and welcoming some of y’all really are when it comes to treating people equally. So, the 21-year-old, gay Black man celebrated his sexuality and put our boundaries to the test with his video for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).” And some of you truly showed your whole entire ass by expressing your outrage on social media due to the imagery in the video. But more on that later. “What Montero Lamar Hill was showing you is that he isn’t afraid of the hell that some of you have already put him in for being gay.” And it wasn’t necessarily what was in the video but who was behind those “provocative” and “evil” images. To be Black is one thing that this country is still trying to accept. To be Black an...
