Brian May is Selling a Badger-Scented Perfume

Queen guitarist, astrophysicist, and friend to all animals, Brian May has been fighting to protect badgers for more than a decade now. The small omnivores are often slaughtered in the UK to reduce the spreading of bovine tuberculosis. For his latest campaign to save the creatures, May has released a new perfume line that’s not only dedicated to badgers, it actually smells like them, too. The aromatic product is called Save Me, which also happens to be the name of a 1980 Queen single penned by May. Its product page lists fragrance notes like pink pepper, jasmine, sandalwood, and musk, but according to the nose of one reporter from The Sun (via Stereogum), the combination of earthy tones results in “a hint of clean badger fur.” Yum. May hasn’t outright described his perfume as badg...

Lana Del Rey on Trump’s Presidency: “As Bad as It Was, It Really Needed to Happen”

In an attempt to circumvent a fuss over the cover to her new album, Chemtrails Over the Country Club, Lana Del Rey really wants you to know she has POC friends. Unfortunately, she probably stirred more controversy than she sought to prevent, as no one was really questioning that the cover didn’t have non-white people in it (because it, uh, is a photo and we can see that there are). Now, in an interview with BBC Radio 1, she’s further complicated matters — and brought her opinions on the Trump insurrection into things. When revealing her album cover, Del Rey posted a lengthy comment that was the pretentious version of “I have black friends;” “My best friends are rappers my boyfriends have been rappers,” is an actual sentence she wrote. Speaking live with Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1, LDR argued...

This time around, it’s not so much the performance as it is Toyah’s revealing choice of apparel that has garnered the most comments on YouTube. In just one day, the clip has more than a half million views. “Enter Sandman” isn’t Robert and Toyah...
