Netflix has acquired the streaming rights to Dave Chappelle’s brilliant early aughts sketch comedy series Chappelle’s Show. The show’s full three-season, 28-episode run will be available on the streaming platform beginning November 1st. Chappelle’s Show famously aired for three seasons between 2003 and 2006 on Comedy Central, and is widely considered to be one of the best comedies of its time. Thursday (Oct.29), Netflix announced the price hikes for US subscribers bumping the price of its standard plan from $13 to $14, a $1 increase. Those who enjoy the premium tier also saw an increase, with their monthly subscriptions jumping from $16 to $18. If you happen to enjoy using Netflix’s basic plan, your fee remains $8, so you can breathe a sigh of relief. New subscribers will be the first to experience the new pricing while current customer’s subscriptions will be adjusted over the next few weeks. With an election looming, Halloween imminent, and coronavirus cases hitting record highs, Netflix thought this would be the perfect time to try and slip some bad news past us. The streaming giant has announced modest rate hikes on its standard and premium plans for American consumers. Via The Verge, the standard package has been bumped up to $13.99 per month from a previous mark of $12.99. The premium plan took an even bigger hit, jumping from $15.99 to $17.99. The basic plan remains unchanged at $8.99 per billing cycle.
