Never Say Die

Space Laces Continues Triumphant Return With Bass House Beast, “Dominate”: Listen

Earlier this month, Never Say Die favorite Space Laces ended his yearlong hiatus with his revolutionary Vaultage 003 mix that featured 21 previously unheard tunes. After receiving a resounding stamp of approval from the electronic music community, the fabled bass music producer returns with one of the aforementioned unreleased tunes, entitled “Dominate.”  “Dominate” is relentless right from the start, yet it takes a different route than what fans have come to expect from Space Laces. Kicking off with a crisp percussive intro, a myriad of frenetic samples leads listeners into a ruthless bass house drop. The second drop cuts into half-time, decimating listeners with an onslaught of glitchy synths and saturated kicks.  While “Dominate” i...

Trampa Returns With Massive Riddim Offering, “Sick Head” on Never Say Die [Premiere]

Since the pandemic began, Never Say Die: Black Label heavyweight Trampa had been relatively quiet. That was, until he came back swinging with a massive new single called “Your Luv,” which was well-received by fans and fellow artists alike.  Since “Your Luv” was released last month, Trampa promised that even more new music was on the way. He has now delivered on that promise with his next NSD release, a ferocious riddim banger titled “Sick Head,” premiered exclusively on EDM.com. The new single is a take-no-prisoners approach to riddim, with a trappy, hip-hop-influenced intro highlighted by downpitched vocal samples and driving percussive elements. Tension builds at the breakdown as reverberated synths hint at what’s to come, but the listener will still be unprepared ...

Never Say Die: Black Label is Shutting Down

It’s the end of an era after famed dubstep imprint Never Say Die: Black Label announced that it is shutting down indefinitely. In a statement shared via social media, the team behind the Never Say Die Records sub-label said that they have been “prompted to rethink” how they release music due to it “being blurred to staggering new levels.” In order to move forward with a more cohesive brand, all future releases will now appear under the single umbrella of its parent label. “One of the only positives we can take from the pandemic is that huge strides have been made in genre fluidity, with producers continuing to push the boundaries and keep the bass scene moving,” the statement reads. “As a result, we increasingly find that some ...

Space Laces Breaks Silence with Awe-Inspiring Vaultage 003 Mix

Bass music virtuoso Space Laces has kept things relatively quiet as of late. His last release, “Rumble” (with Excision), landed on Never Say Die in 2018, and his “Vaultage mix” series saw its second installment arrive in September 2019.  It’s been radio silence since then, but Space Laces recently took to Twitter to tease something big: As fans began buzzing over what was to come, Space Laces announced that the third installment of Vaultage was finally set to arrive, and now it’s here at last. Vaultage 003 is chock-full of enticing and all-original bass sounds, ranging from experimental to bass house, dubstep and beyond in the new 20-minute mix. “Bird Alert,” the track featured in the Twitter teaser, sits right in the middle of pipi...

This one’s got layers. Ever since his Operate EP debuted on Never Say Die Records last year, bass music wunderkind Effin has been turning heads. Since then, he’s remixed NGHTMRE and A$AP Ferg, collaborated with Kompany, and released some impressive singles such as “Cabbage” and “Cheese.”  Effin has returned to Never Say Die once again, this time with a different food-themed single that’s sure to satisfy any bass craving.  “Onion” is a powerful and vibrant new offering that packs some serious punch. Somewhere between riddim and left field bass, Effin’s latest single boasts incredible layers of sound design and top-notch technicality, but doesn’t compromise its musicality as a result. With a keen atten...

Returning to Never Say Die with a dual single release, Volpe is now out to prove that statement as a fact.  “Insane (feat. fknsyd)” and “Turbo Kid” are two new multidimensional cuts from Ray Volpe, each one showing a different facet of his production prowess. “Insane” boasts a dark and dreamy melodic section, elevated by fknsyd’s vocal work. When the drop hits, screeching stabs and a powerful sub-bass patch provide a landscape that sits somewhere between riddim and trap, and high in the ranks of Volpe’s finest works. “...
