Drake and 21 Savage Sample Daft Punk’s “One More Time” In Controversial Track, “Circo Loco”

Drake and 21 Savage‘s collaborative album, Her Loss, has dropped and there’s one particular track that immediately became a lightning rod for controversy. That track is “Circo Loco,” which is underpinned by an unexpected sample: a slow-rolling version of Daft Punk‘s iconic “One More Time.”  The bold usage of the robots’ biggest hit isn’t the only thing that’s got the industry buzzing, however. In his verse, Drake sparked controversy on multiple fronts, taking aim at both Megan Thee Stallion and Ye (formerly known as Kanye West), respectively.  Scroll to Continue Recommended Articles “This bitch lie about getting shot but she still a stallion. Listen to Whyte Fang’s Hypnotic Single, “Girl”

Alison Wonderland descends further into the unknown with the spellbinding “Girl,” the third single to release since she revived her Whyte Fang alias. Wonderland’s experimental side project continues to cover new ground in the realm of bass music. Her latest track is equally curious as her prior singles, as hypnotic vocal chants serve as the connective adhesive of this minimal trap banger. Much like the preceding “333,” Wonderland manipulates her vocals to create hypnotic loops, each drenched in an unpredictable concoction of delay and reverb, adding a tangibly psychedelic flare to the mix. Listen: Zedd and ellis Co-Produce New Edit of Mike Posner’s “I’m Not Dead Yet”

All Mike Posner knows are sad songs.  Despite the lyrical weight of his recent single, the Grammy-nominated pop star once again opts to see the glass half full by sharing a new edit of “I’m Not Dead Yet,” produced by the collaborative force of ellis and Zedd. Posner has always worn his heart on his sleeve, and “I’m Not Dead Yet,” marks another characteristically open and candid lyrical offering. Much like Seeb’s high-flying remix of “I Took A Pill In Ibiza,” the new version of “I’m Not Dead Yet” brings an almost paradoxically uplifting energy to the production side with bright guitar riffs and playfully pitched vocal chops. Posner leans into the duo’s spirited production, smiling ear-to-ear in the new m...

Kaskade Teams Up With Justus for Herculean Hard Dance Tune, “Dance With Me”

Kaskade is swinging to the dark side, and 22-year-old Justus is pushing the pendulum. They’ve joined forces for a new song called “Dance With Me,” which finds Kaskade entering uncharted waters. Tracks like “I Remember” and “Eyes” will stand the test of time, but this time around, he’s endeavoring into the world of hard dance. “Dance With Me” strays from the melodic and oftentimes ambient approach to his music and instead opts for a more heavy-hitting sound. The track kicks off with thumping, techno-inspired kick drums as reverberating stabs swell and slice through the arrangement. Eventually Kaskade and Justus unleash an ominous drop. At the break, a melancholic pad bleeds into spacey synths, carrying a gritty ...

Self-empowerment is the name on the game on RayRay‘s new single, “Butterfly,” a melodic bass ballad written with fellow Taiwanese producer JVNA. Featuring a slow-burning bassline and sultry, hypnotic vocals, the collab is an ode to their experiences in the music industry as women, as well as the lessons they’ve taught themselves along the way.  Creepy and crawling, otherworldly and unyielding, “Butterfly” builds like lightning on the horizon with minimalistic percussion and sensuous lyricism: “Watch me as I go and take a leap / Try to make the dreams my reality.” Meanwhile, deep bass grows beneath the surface, waiting to overtake you with a thunderous drop. The track, which features energetic bars courtesy of Bandz, finds Nostalgix producing a rowdy bass house beat. I met Lano Bandz through my friend Wraith, and we immediately had a vibe together. I got Lano to hop in the vocal booth and start freestyling over a fun instrumental I had.”  Fans c...
