Van Morrison and Eric Clapton joined forces again for “The Rebels,” a duet of “Where Have All the Rebels Gone” from Morrison’s new album Latest Record Project: Vol. 1. An accompanying animated video shows drawings of musicians including Axl Rose, Robert Johnson, Kurt Cobain, Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead on “Wanted: Rebel” posters. Clairo Preps Sophomore Album Sling, Releases ‘Blouse’ Featuring Lorde
Claire Cottrill, the singer-songwriter known as Clairo, has revealed the plans for her sophomore album. Titled Sling, the album is out on July 16 via Fader/Republic Records. The album is produced by producer-extraordinaire Jack Antonoff. Earlier in the day, Clairo appeared on the new Lorde track “Solar Power,” and Lorde returned the favor by lending her vocals to Clairo’s new song, “Blouse.” The album was recorded at Allaire Studios in New York. In a statement posted on her Twitter account, Clairo also thanked her dog, Joanie, for opening up “my world in ways I didn’t think was capable.” See the full statement below. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ She’s the One Will Be Reissued for 25th Anniversary
A few months ahead of the 25th anniversary of Songs and Music From She’s the One, Tom Petty’s estate has announced a reimagined version of that album they’re calling Angel Dream (Songs and Music from the Motion Picture She’s the One). The reissue will be released first on limited-edition cobalt blue vinyl for Record Store Day this Saturday, June 12, and then on CD, digital, and black vinyl on July 2. A visualizer video for “Angel Dream (No. 2)” dropped on Thursday, showing the lyrics of the peaceful song and an image of Petty among the wildflowers and sunset colors.
