If nothing else, 2021 has been quite busy for Lana Del Rey. She released Chemtrails Over the Country Club in March and since then has teased several other new releases this year. Now, we can hear what she’s been up to. Del Rey released three new songs on Thursday, including the previously teased “Blue Banisters,” “Text Book” and “Wildflower Wildfire.” You can hear the tunes below. While it’s not certain whether the promised June 1 release date of “Rock Candy Sweet” is an album or part of Blue Banisters, which is slated for July 4, but either way, this is all part of what would be Del Rey’s eighth studio effort. The album, however, seems to indicate that the album will be Blue Banisters. Late last year, Del Rey made her first TV performance in the U.S. in nearly a d...
U2 frontman Bono takes a solo spin with his vocals on “Eden: To Find Love,” a song co-written and produced by Linda Perry. It’s the only artist-driven tune on the soundtrack of Citizen Penn, a film about Sean Penn’s organization J/PHRO (now CORE) in the wake of the 2010 Haiti Earthquake. Perry, of 4 Non Blondes fame, scored the soundtrack, which comes out via Lakeshore Records on May 21. Citizen Penn was directed by Don Hardy and is now streaming now on Discovery+. “My dream was not to be a big rockstar, it was to create music that would play a supporting role in films,” the “What’s Up” singer said in a statement. “Every song I write comes from a visual, not a word, not a strum.” “Eden: To Find Love” includes the lyrics “Out of the ash, out of the dust / ...
Pawnee, Indiana’s biggest band just released the official video for their smash hit, “5,000 Candles In the Wind,” ahead of the release of their upcoming album, The Awesome Album. That’s right, the Andy Dwyer-fronted quartet known as Mouse Rat is back. Last seen on the national stage when their critically acclaimed docuseries, Parks and Recreation, ended in 2015, the legendary rockers took to social media last month to tease an announcement coming today, but no one could have expected Dualtone Music Group to partner with the the multimedia giants in Entertainment 720 to release the band’s long-awaited album on vinyl, CD, and cassette. The news was officially broken earlier today by Pawnee’s favorite talk show host, Perd Hapley, and happens to mark the 10-year anniversary of the ba...
Since returning from a four-year hiatus in 2019, Wave Racer has consistently impressed. Last month he took part in Porter Robinson’s Secret Sky virtual festival and released his pop-tinged tune “Left Behind.” Today Wave Racer continues his hot streak with the release of his latest single “What Are We Waiting For?” “What Are We Waiting For?” follows closely in the footsteps of “Left Behind” but embraces a more relaxed sound. Forgoing his vocals this time around, the track’s strength lies within its vivacious production, euphoric guitar riffs, and glitchy, resonating subs. The bubbly, laid-back feel combined with Wave Racer’s signature uplifting sound makes it the perfect pre-summer jam. You can find “What...
After two weeks of the cryptic Project Dreamland campaign, Angels & Airwaves have finally released “Euphoria” alongside their announcement that they’d be playing Lollapalooza this year in addition to a pair of headlining shows in New York (October 23 at Hammerstein Ballroom) and Los Angeles (November 5 at the Hollywood Palladium). Although still plenty grand and catchy, the latest from UFO expert and Padres super fan Tom DeLonge certainly leans harder and heavier than some Angels & Airwaves tracks of the past. The single — which released with a new video directed by DeLonge — combines a very straightforward rock approach with the band’s usual experimental tones and sounds. “In a music world that seems to be absent guitars, angst, and emotional authenticity,...
Phoebe Bridgers makes a cameo in the new Jackson Browne video for “My Cleveland Heart,” a song from his Downhill From Everywhere LP that’s due out on July 23 through Inside Recordings. The new record, which comes nearly 50 years after his 1972 self-titled debut, has “a deep current of inclusion running through this record,” Browne said in a statement. “I think that idea of inclusion, of opening yourself up to people who are different than you – that’s the fundamental basis for any kind of understanding in this world.” Browne’s bandmates, Val McCallum, Greg Leisz, Jeff Young, Mauricio Lewak, Bob Glaub, as well as Pete Thomas and Dave Faragher, are also in the clip, which was directed by Alissa Torvinen (Phoebe Bridgers, Pink). The single was co-written with his longtime guita...
Duran Duran is back with a brand new all-caps single, “INVISIBLE” to jumpstart the buildup to their next all-caps album, FUTURE PAST, which will be out on Oct. 22. But not only is “INVISIBLE” the first single for a new album but it’s also accompanied by a groundbreaking music video that sees the band collaborate with an AI “artist” known as Huxley. For a more traditional visual, Duran Duran will also perform the track for the first time this Sunday (May 23) at the Billboard Music Awards. “Sonic architecture has always been incredibly important to Duran Duran. I think, with ‘INVISIBLE,’ we really have managed to carve the sculpture the way we wanted it,” keyboardist Nick Rhodes said in a statement. “Sonically, it’s a very unusual piece of music. I think when you merge all the instrumen...

Last week Martin Garrix unveiled a collaboration with U2‘s Bono and The Edge, which would serve as the anthem for the UEFA EURO 2020. After the trio was recently spotted in London filming, both the track and official music video have arrived via Garrix’s STMPD RCRDS. As most would expect, “We Are The People” is an anthemic, soaring single, an absolutely perfect fit for the UEFA. The personality of the tune shines through thanks to the production of Garrix, a longtime football fan. Bono’s signature tenor blends effortlessly with the upbeat production here, highlighting the synergy found between all three artists. The UEFA tournament begins on June 12th and runs through July 12th as 24 nations will compete for the title. Click here ...
