Stevie Nicks has just released her first new solo song in nearly a decade. It’s called “Show Them The Way” and features Dave Grohl on drums. A music video helmed by renowned director Cameron Crowe is due out later today; in the meantime, you can stream the audio below. The Fleetwood Mac icon previously said she was inspired to write “Show Them The Way” when revisiting an old dream. One night right before the 2008 election, Nicks fell asleep and imagined herself in the company of a variety of notable politicians and activists, including Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, John Lewis, and Bobby Kennedy. Clairo Covers The Strokes’ “I’ll Try Anything Once”: Stream
Clairo has shared a cover of The Strokes’ 2006 B-side “I’ll Try Anything Once”. For her lo-fi rendition, the bedroom pop artist is joined by Jake Passmore of the London-based indie band SCORS. “I’ll Try Anything Once” is technically a demo version of “You Only Live Once”, a Strokes standout from their 2005 album First Impressions of Earth. Both songs are fan-favorites for different reasons: “You Only Live Once” is an upbeat anthem and a long-time live staple, whereas its acoustic predecessor is beloved for being a Strokes song that’s actually vulnerable and pretty. Caleb Giles has announced a new album, Meditations, due out October 21st. As a preview, the New York rapper is a sharing fresh single today titled “No Difference”. While Giles moonlights as a saxophonist in the jazz-rap outfit Standing on the Corner, Meditations is entirely his own project and follows solo records Under the Shade (2019) and There Will Be Rain (2018). Tank and The Bangas have announced a new EP called Friend Goals. Due out November 20th via Verve Forecast, the six-track, guest-heavy release is being previewed today with the track “Self Care”. The New Orleans-based group are known for their collaborative habits, having this year teamed with the likes of Jacob Collier and Fantastic Negrito. Friend Goals, as the title might suggest, brings together a number of artists Tank and The Bangas have befriended over their career. The War on Drugs have announced a new live album. Titled LIVE DRUGS, it’s due out November 20th through frontman Adam Granduciel’s own Super High Quality Records. According to a statement, the 10-track effort was “culled from over 40 hard drives” of concert recordings. There are selections from across the indie rock band’s impressive catalog — including the 2008 debut Wagonwheel Blues, 2014’s Lost in the Dream, and A Deeper Understanding from 2017 — but many are captured like never before. The Kills have shared a previously unreleased demo called “Raise Me”. The song is taken from the band’s newly announced rarities collection, Little Bastards, arriving December 11th via Domino. The compilation comprises recordings dating from The Kill’s earliest 7-inch singles in 2002 through 2009. Featuring remastered B-sides, demos, and covers, Little Bastards collects many tracks originally recorded for bonus inclusion on CD singles. As that format vanished in the wake of digital streaming, most of those songs were abandoned — hence the title Little Bastards.
