Tanqueray Returns With #TattletalesFromTanqueray Series With Help From Humans of New York

Source: @humansofnewyork / Instagram The last we heard of Humans of New York’s breakout star Tanqueray, her published life stories as a 70s era stripper had social media at the edge of their seats.  With her health in fast decline these days, the blog is in dire need to tell her story and raise money to help pay for her medical bills.  After going viral last year, the tales of Tanqueray, born Stephanie, were initially intended to become a podcast series, but plans were halted once her health took a turn for the worse. Luckily she sat and shared her life story over a series of twenty interviews with Brandon Stanton, the founder of Humans of New York, giving him the idea to transcribe and publish them over Twitter instead. The hopeful storyteller wanted to raise awareness of her co...

Jerry Seinfeld’s Spicy Op-Ed ON New York City Trends on Twitter, So Does “She’s 15”

Source: Mike Stobe / Getty Jerry Seinfeld left his billionaire lair to pen a cheeky op-ed for the New York Times in response to another writer’s opinion piece claiming New York City is washed beyond repair. The piece was spicy in true NYC fashion, and so was Twitter when his name joined a controversial, yet coincidental topic on the “Trending Topics” list. It started from a whiny op-ed written by James Altucher, star of his namesake podcast and co-founder of the Standup NY comedy club, who says “NYC is dead forever. Here’s why.” The piece reads like an aggrieved city dweller whose privileged lifestyle is permanently destroyed and is wanting an audience to rally behind his sentiments. To summarize, The Big Apple is no longer a place worth living in because business opportunities, culture, a...

NYC Sets Up More COVID Checkpoints Around The City

Source: Pacific Press / Getty In the early days of the Coronavirus outbreak, New York found itself as the epicenter of the pandemic as the virus spread like unwanted mayonnaise throughout the state and city with seemingly no end in sight. After initiating a long shutdown and quarantine period, the Big Apple seems to finally have the outbreak under control and is doing everything they can to keep it that way as the city reopens and residents try to get back to “normal.” To keep the infection rate as low as it’s been in recent weeks, NYMAG is reporting that Mayor Bill de Blasio is setting up new checkpoints for people coming in from 35 states where the COVID-19 virus is raging out of control. Good move, Mr. Mayor. “If you come here, you must quarantine,” de Blasio said on W...

The electric scooters have are a THING now as a result of COVID-19 and have become popular among New Yorkers who don’t like to pedal on a bicycle and need to get around the city. Unfortunately, its a wrap… for now, for the insanely convenient travel option Gothamist is reporting because of knuckleheads who refuse to practice safety while using the scooters. The Brooklyn company, which was founded in 2018, announced it will now be suspending all operations in NYC “until further notice” following the death of a second rider in just t...

Floating Movie Theaters Coming to New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and More US Cities

Parisians were treated to a floating movie theater adventure this past weekend. Apparently it went swimmingly because now a different company, Beyond Cinema, is bringing a similar idea to America. Starting this September, Beyond Cinema will launch 12 to 24 mini boats — each of which can hold upwards of eight people — in US cities. Movies will be projected on a large screen outdoors near the water, and patrons can pay to watch the film in comfort from one of the floating vessels. The Australian entertainment and event company originally found success with their “boat-in” events back during pre-COVID times. Once the current pandemic set in, though, they decided to modify the event to uphold safety measures while still capitalizing on this creative way to keep movie lovers entertained. Tech CEO Found Decapitated & Dismembered In NYC Apartment

Source: Mona Makela Photography / Getty We’re not sure if it’s the sudden removal of NYPD’s plainclothes cops, the unemployment situation or the Coronavirus pandemic, but crime in New York City has erupted in the past few weeks. A grisly discovery in Manhattan’s Lower East Side seems to show that it’s only going to be getting wilder as the summer of 2020 chugs along. According to the New York Post, police discovered the dismembered body of tech CEO Fahim Saleh on Tuesday (July 14) after they received a welfare check call from his cousin. When officers showed up at his East Houston Street apartment what they found was a scene straight out of a Saw movie. Saleh’s body was deconstructed as his head, arms and legs had been removed with his body parts found in bags around the apartment. “This i...
