Report: Newcastle keen on 14-goal star linked with Spurs, contacts initiated already

Newcastle are thought to be keen on signing another striker this summer and they have initiated contact with Napoli regarding Arkadiusz Milik. The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in the recent weeks. The report (h/t Sportwitness) claims that Tottenham and Roma are keen on the player as well and Napoli have dropped their asking price to €20m plus bonuses. It seems quite reasonable and Newcastle should be able to afford him. Milik managed to score 14 goals for Napoli last season and he could prove to be a quality addition to Steve Bruce’s attack. Newcastle signed Callum Wilson earlier this summer and he has looked pretty impressive so far. He could partner Milik in the attack if the Napoli ace moves to St James’ Park this summer. It will be interest...

BBC man asks why Spurs didn’t sign NUFC man that ‘would have fitted straight into the squad’

Tottenham Hotspur lost their new Premier League season opener to Everton at N 17 yesterday, and boss Jose Mourinho will hope to bring in a striker before the end of the summer transfer window. Signing a cover for Harry Kane has proven to be herculean for Spurs over the last two windows, but BBC pundit and former England international striker Peter Crouch reckons Newcastle United summer signing Callum Wilson wouldn’t have minded playing second fiddle to the Englishman. He is also wondering why the North Londoners didn’t go after Chelsea summer arrival Timo Werner as he believes his versatility would have come handy within their attacking ranks. “I mentioned earlier Liverpool might regret letting Chelsea sign Timo Werner but I would have loved to have seen Tottenham go all out for him,” Crou...

According to Herald and Times Sport, Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy is interested in a move to Rangers this summer. The Ibrox outfit are keen to secure the services of the Magpies forward on loan, but head coach Steve Bruce wants him to remain at St. James’ Park and fight for his playing chances having been impressed with him during pre-season. Murphy also appears to be on the radar of Rangers Scottish Premiership rivals Celtic. According to Yorkshire Live, the 25-year-old is being tracked by a number of Championship clubs and teams north of the border, and while any names weren’t mentioned, the Old Firm duo are clearly the only Scottish clubs able to attract a player of Murphy’s calibre and pay his wages.
