Gesaffelstein and Kanye West have officially reunited. The French electronic music virtuoso announced that he’s behind the production of a new single from West’s upcoming 10th studio album, Donda. The track is called “No Child Left Behind” and it’s due out this Friday, July 23rd along with the rest of the LP, according to announcement by Beats Electronics. Gesaffelstein confirmed the collab after it was featured in a Beats commercial aired during Game 6 of the NBA Finals. The ad features America’s fastest woman, Olympic track and field sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, and was directed and edited by West. The hype surrounding Donda was briefly overshadowed by a legendary, championship-sealing performance by Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, but it’s now b...
Following the scratchy, summertime lead single, “Solar,” Lorde has released “Stoned at the Nail Salon,” an elegantly written, FOMO-laced, quarter-life-crisis ballad that could sit on the same shelf as Lana Del Rey or W.B. Yeats. “Got a wishbone drying on the windowsill in my kitchen/ Just in case I wake up and realize I’ve chosen wrong.” And that’s just the first line. The New Zealand singer-songwriter said she used the song as a “dumping ground” for uncomfortable thoughts and images about getting older. “[It’s] a sort of a rumination … on settling into domesticity, and questioning if you’ve made the right decisions,” Lorde said. “I think lots of people start asking those questions of themselves around my age, and it was super comforting to me writing them down, hoping they’d resonate with...
Axl Rose has hit some pretty amazing high notes during his career, but now Guns N’ Roses are offering up a new kind of high. The legendary band has its own line of bongs and smoking accessories. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers have partnered with Famous Brandz for a collection that includes two bongs, a couple of grinders, and two hand pipes. The two glass bongs feature artwork from the band’s iconic debut album, Appetite for Destruction. The “Band 12-Inch Water Pipe” has a hexagonal shape at the bottom showing each of the skeletal images of the band members, while the “Appetite for Destruction 10-Inch Dab Rig” shows the group shot of the skeletons at the base, with the words “Guns N’ Roses Was Here” in the middle. Eric Clapton had a brilliant run in the 1960s and ‘70s, but ever since that anti-immigrant screed in 1976, the famed guitarist has become less notable for the movement of his fingers and more infamous for the farts coming out of his mouth. In his latest gaseous expulsion, Mr. Slowbrainhand once again came to the defense of anti-vaxxers, saying he won’t play in front of “discriminated” audiences that have been fully inoculated against COVID-19. The pronouncement came after UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that, by the end of September, “We are planning to make full [COVID-19] vaccination the condition of entry to nightclubs and other venues where large crowds gather.” He’s talking about a kind of vaccine passport, which doesn’t sound so bad if you’re a person who trusts the scienti...
