Foo Fighters Announce First-Ever Alaska Tour Dates

In took 26 years, but Foo Fighters are finally heading to Alaska. As part of their upcoming North America tour, Dave Grohl have announced a trio of shows in the 49th state. Specifically, they’ll play two shows at Anchorage’s Dena’ina Center on August 17th and 19th and a gig at Carlson Center in Fairbanks on August 21st. The dates make Foo Fighters’ first-ever ones in Alaska. The Alaska concerts are part of an increasingly lengthy tour schedule that gets going at the end of July. Alongside a bevy of festival appearances, Foo Fighters will play a number of headlining gigs celebrating the band’s 26th anniversary. Check out the complete itinerary below. As new television and film streaming services pop up left and right, long-running platforms like Netflix are seeking new ways to grow their offerings in an increasingly-saturated market. Soon enough, video games can be added to your “Netflix and chill” lineup: The streaming giant announced this week that they’ve hired Mike Verdu as its new vice president of game development as part of a new venture to offer video games on its platform. R.I.P. Jeff LaBar, Guitarist of Cinderella Dead at 58

Jeff LaBar, longtime guitarist of the glam metal band Cinderella, has died at age of 58. LaBar’s son, Sebastian, shared the news of his father’s passing in a social media post on Wednesday (via Blabbermouth). “So i just got the call… Jeff LaBar, my father, my hero, my idol, passed away today,” Sebastian wrote, “I’m currently at a loss for words. I love you pop.” A cause of death was not disclosed. LaBar joined Cinderella in 1985 right as the band hit the studio to record their debut album, Night Songs. Thanks to its breakout single, “Nobody’s Fool,” as well as a slot opening on tour for Bon Jovi, Night Songs became one of 1986’s biggest albums, achieving triple platinum status and peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
