Deadpool Makes His Official MCU Debut…Kinda

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: YouTube / Youtube For years comic book fans have been clamoring for Deadpool to officially join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although we’re still a few years away from that happening (rumored to go down towards the end of Phase 5 in 2023), fans got a teaser of Deadpool in the MCU. To hype up his upcoming film Free Guy, Ryan Reynolds threw on his Deadpool threads for a reaction video to the film’s trailer and welcomed none other than fan MCU hero, Korg from Thor: Ragnarok. In the four-and-a-half minute clip, Korg and Deadpool comedically breakdown the Free Guy film trailer before Deadpool ultimately asks Korg, “Any tips on getting into the MCU, Korg?” While Marvel remains mum on when Deadpool will actually be making his MCU debut, Kevin Feige has confirm...

Ben Carson Puts On Tap Shoes Again, Says Welfare Harmed Black Communities More Than Slavery

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bloomberg / Getty Dr. Ben Carson has long been a champion of politically and socially conservative values which only increased during his time as a member of former President Donald Trump’s administration. Speaking recently at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Dallas, Texas, Carson made the utterance that welfare and government assistance has undermined Black families far more than slavery. Carson, the former HUD secretary, spoke to the CPAC attendees and made his explosive statement regarding welfare and Black lives. Carson has expressed similar sentiment before, and it checks out with the usual refrain spoken by conservative pundits and other figures who offer opinions from the right. “When you look at what the Black community has b...

TOBi Is “Off the Drugs” in New Song with Mick Jenkins: Stream

Born in Nigeria and raised in Canada, TOBi is a rapper on the rise. He’s now teamed with Mick Jenkins for a new meditation on intoxication, “Off the Drugs.” This is not a confessional track or an ode to sobriety, and in fact, the woozy guitars and giddy horns ensure that “Off the Drugs” would sound great while high as a kite. The song opens with one of our favorite legal potions, as TOBi raps, “Caught me slippin’, I was sippin’ bourbon/ Unfamiliar feelings, it’s that liquid courage.” Throughout the song, he also gets buzzed off the bag, ripped off romance, and just plain stoned. “When off the drugs,” he sings, “Show me some love/ On a good trip and I hope it never end/ High as a ceiling fan and I got the spins.” For his part, Jenkins rolls through and rolls up, spinning together ...

BLACKPINK’s Rosé Delivers Acoustic Cover of Paramore’s “The Only Exception”: Watch

Rosé unveiled her take on Paramore’s “The Only Exception” while appearing on the South Korean variety show Sea of Hope. Seated on the ground outside a Korean food stall, the BLACKPINK singer strummed an acoustic guitar while accompanied by another guitarist and a keyboard player. “When I was younger I saw my daddy cry/ And curse at the wind/ He broke his own heart and I watched/ As he tried to reassemble it/ And my momma swore that she would/ Never let herself forget/ And that was the day that I promised/ I’d never sing of love if it does not exist,” she sang. The laidback performance follows Rosé’s earlier cover of John Mayer’s 2006 classic “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” from the same program late last month. King Woman Share New Song “Boghz” Ahead of Upcoming Album: Stream

King Woman have shared “Boghz,” the final single from their upcoming third album, Celestial Blues, out July 30th. The mysterious track touts soft-loud buildups that create an unsettling vibe. Whispering wind and muted guitar notes give way to crushing chords in the chorus, as singer Kris Esfandiari belts out in terror. King Woman take the classic Sabbathian doom template and sharpen it to an edge. “It’s a tragic story about one ancient soul split in two separate bodies,” Esfandiari explained via a press release. “Only knowing a sick and twisted version of love, one half nearly destroys the other. It’s about being at the mercy of a sadistic person who you have an undeniable psychic bond with.” Advertisement Related Video Such darkly cerebral themes can also be found in previous singles “Mor...

This time, we decided to take the studio to the cabin and produce it ourselves,” Ricky Young said. “Ain’t Lookin” encapsulates all of The Wild Feathers country-rock charm, singing “Love is whatcha find when it ain’t what you’re looking for.” Listen to “Ain’t Lookin” below.
