HipHopWired Featured Video Source: WENN.com / WENN Kanye West is going through a divorce so it wasn’t much of a surprise when he was reportedly already on the prowl, linking with a Russian supermodel. However, Irina Shayk has allegedly already relegated Yeezy to the friend zone. Let’s be wary of the source, Page Six, which is part of the New York Post, and does the most to put stars of color in a bad light. But word is that Shayk curved West’s invitation to go with him to the Balenciaga Fall 2021 Couture show in Paris last week. “She likes him as a friend, but doesn’t want a relationship with him,” a source told Page Six, noting Shayk didn’t want to be featured in any headlines. That or, she was into kicking it with a dude rocking a full face mask out in public—or wearing adidas sneakers w...
Ever since Disney purchased 20th Century Fox back in 2019, fans have been waiting for Deadpool to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We’ve long known that such a multiverse merger was in the works, but we never would have expected it to happen like this. The Merc with a Mouth has officially had his first MCU crossover in an appropriately meta preview of Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi’s new film Free Guy. See, Reynolds portrays Deadpool in that character’s film series, and Waititi directed Thor: Ragnarok and starred in both that film and Avengers: Endgame as the alien rock creature Korg. Now in Free Guy, Reynolds plays a video game background character who realizes he’s a digital creation, and Waititi plays the movie’s villain, the publisher behind the game. Free ...
Wheel of Time, the most popular fantasy series of the past 30 years not named Game of Thrones, is heading for the silver screen. As Deadline reports, Zack Stent (Thor, X-Men: First Class) will pen the first film in a planned trilogy. Robert Jordan’s enormous Wheel of Time saga boasts nearly 3,000 named characters and spans 15 books, with the last three completed by Brandon Sanderson after Jordan’s death in 2007. That’s a lot of source material to draw from, and so it’s interesting to note that Stentz’s film series plans to do without most of it — the better to avoid competing with Amazon’s upcoming TV adaptation. Instead, the cinematic trilogy will be set in the Age of Legends, which was already several millennia old by the time the series launched with the first book, ...

Amid an increasingly bitter battle between Dutch regulators and music festival organizers, one of the nation’s largest festival production entities ID&T is taking the government to court. ID&T is comprised of the brilliant minds behind Defqon.1, Mysteryland, Awakenings, and many more iconic festival brands. Time is of the essence and ID&T is hoping the suit will lead to immediate clarity from the government regarding what the path forward for large scale events will be. Despite the request, many major events—most notably Tomorrowland—have been forced to cancel last minute due to the mercurial nature of the government’s pandemic mandates. In Tomorrowland’s case, officials at the local level rejected their filing of an event permit despite nation...
Good news for Dexter fans: Debra Morgan is returning from the dead. Sort of. After her character was infamously killed off in Dexter’s 2013 series finale, Jennifer Carpenter is reprising her role for Showtime’s upcoming revival of the serial killer drama. If you’ll recall (spoiler), Deb was murdered by serial killer Oliver Saxon in the final episode of Dexter’s original iteration, which prompted some critics to call it “the worst series finale ever.” Helmed by original showrunner Clyde Phillips, Showtime’s 10-episode revival of Dexter occurs nearly a decade after where we left off, with the titular character now living under an anonymous alias in a fictional Upstate New York town. Michael C. Hall will be returning as the show’s protagonist, with Clancy Brown, Julia Jones, Alano Miller, Joh...
100 gecs are riding their stupid horse to a city near you. They performed a handful of sold-out shows and announced a lengthy run of dates just before the world shut down in 2020, meaning this tour has been a very long time in the making. Tickets go on sale this Friday, July 16th at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster. See their schedule below. Adv...
