Lorde to Appear as Musical Guest on Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Lorde is set to perform her new single “Solar Power” live for the first time during an appearance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert next Thursday, July 15th. The New Zealand singer appeared remotely on the Late Show last month to discuss her upcoming album and supporting tour. Earlier this week, she was spotted in New York City with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, prompting rumors of an in-person televised performance. Lorde’s new album Solar Power is due out on August 20th, and will be supported by a lengthy world tour kicking off in early 2022. Thurston Moore announced that he is will be releasing a memoir that is due out in 2023 via Doubleday. Titled Sonic Life, the book will explore the “wild music and endless wonder” of the rockers’ career and personal life according to The Bookseller. It has been rumored that he will cover detailed matters such as the affair that ended his marriage with his Sonic Youth co-founder and wife, Kim Gordon, subsequently ending the band. Foo Fighters and Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. teamed up to release The Day The Music Came Back, a short documentary film made of footage from the band’s June 20 post-pandemic return to the stage at the legendary NYC venue. Outkast’s ATLiens turns 25 this year and Andre 3000 and Big Boi have big plans to honor its silver anniversary. The album will receive an expanded digital and vinyl editions, HD digital singles, limited edition anniversary merch and more. City That Never Sleeps: New York May Establish 24-Hour Nightlife Districts

New York City’s Office of Nightlife have shared a comprehensive report that includes plans to establish 24-hour “entertainment districts.” This would mean certain regions in the city would be permitted to sell alcohol and host events at any time. Oftentimes, strict curfews lead to the rise of unlicensed, possibly dangerous gatherings that bleed into residential areas. The pilot program notes: “Uniform closing hours can lead to increased tensions when groups of people simultaneously exit venues into public streets and sidewalks.” According to the new proposal, allowing 24-hour nightlife zones in specified districts “can help people to move at their own pace and reduce conflicts” if implemented properly. The Office of Nightlife is in the process ...
