Funko is celebrating Popapalooza 2021 with its latest Pop! Rocks line of figurines including BTS, Green Day, Pearl Jam, and more. “It’s Funko’s festival of new music Pops! Check out what’s coming soon and follow along the fun with #Popapalooza,” the toy brand shared to announce the new collection, which also features the likes of DJ Khaled, Boyz II Men, Korn’s Jonathan Davis, Twenty One Pilots, John Lennon, The Notorious B.I.G., Ozzy Osbourne, and Yungblud. While the members of BTS have been turned into vinyl figures plenty of times before, this new collection depicts the K-pop boy band in looks from their smash music video for “Dynamite.” Meanwhile, Osbourne is decked out in his look from the cover of 1981’s Diary of a Madman, while Lennon is rocking a military jacket, and Biggie is chann...

Big Red Machine had a busy week, releasing album opener and lead single “Latter Days,” featuring Anais Mitchell, on Tuesday alongside a music video and “The Ghost of Cincinnati” on Wednesday. “With everyone that’s on this record, there’s an openness, a creative generosity and an emotional quality that connects it all together,” Dessner said in a press release of the collaborators on the album, which also includes Fleet Foxes and Sharon Van Etten. The 15-song album, due Aug. 27 through Jagjaguwar/37d03d, was produced by Dessner at his Long Pond studio in upstate New York — the same location of Swift’s Disney+ documentary Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions. Listen to Big Red Machine’s “Renegade,” fea...
On Friday (July 2), Imagine Dragons offered up the latest preview of their fifth studio album, Mercury – Act 1, with the powerful new song “Wrecked.” According to a press release, the latest Mercury song — following the release of “Follow You” and “Cutthroat” in March — was written by frontman Dan Reynolds after his sister-in-law died of cancer. “She was the brightest light,” Reynolds says about Alisha Durtschi Reynolds, who was married to Dan’s brother Paul and had seven children. “A beacon of joy and strength for everyone she met. Her sudden passing has shaken me in ways that I still am unable to express. I was with her and my brother when she passed, and it was the first time in my life that I had witnessed death in...
Bryan St. Pere, the drummer for the massively influential shoegaze and alt-rock band Hum, has died. He was 52 years old. His bandmates confirmed the news in a statement earlier today, writing, “It is with very heavy hearts and tear filled eyes that we share the news that our beloved friend and bandmate, Bryan St. Pere, has passed away. We are devastated and deeply saddened by his sudden, and unexpected passing. Bryan was a dear friend, a loving father, brother, and was an incredible person and musician. We all feel extremely lucky to have shared time and space with him. Peace and love to all who knew Bryan, and those he touched. We will miss him dearly.” At an early age, St. Pere was drawn to the drums and decided to start playing the instrument after falling in love with Rush, particularl...
BTS were guests on the SiriusXM show HITS 1 on 1 on Thursday, sitting down for an interview and a spectacular two-part performance of “Dynamite” and “Butter”. After a brief remote chat with SiriusXM hosts Tony Fly and Symon in which they hyped up their upcoming single “Permission to Dance”, BTS put on an award ceremony-worthy performance. Look, at this point it’s not really shocking that the Bangtan Boys can put more production into a single TV appearance than most artists do in a music video, but it’s still pretty amazing to see every time. Things kicked off simply enough, with BTS sitting in a loft set on some midcentury modern couches. They had as much fun playing off each other during “Dynamite” as they would on a helipad, getting up to dance through the final chorus. As the song ...
Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and The National’s Aaron Dessner have a new album up their sleeve under their collaborative moniker Big Red Machine. Over the past few days, they’ve been releasing songs from the record one by one, and they return tonight to drop the biggest one yet: “Renegade” featuring the one and only Taylor Swift. Stream it below. “Renegade” is the third track we’ve heard from How Long Do You Think It’s Gonna Last?, following the album’s lead single “Latter Days” with Anaïs Mitchell and the stripped-down number “The Ghost of Cincinnati”. Apparently they recorded this song in Los Angeles the same week that Dessner and Swift took home the Album of the Year Grammy for folklore. It’s a folk-pop earworm and it boasts future classic Swift lines like, “Is it insensitive for me to say ...
