Armin van Buuren to Play Rare Concert at Romania’s Landmark Constitution Square
One of Armin Van Buuren‘s first shows back on stage is set to be among the biggest of his career. Allan Hardenberg, CEO of Dutch concert promoter ALDA, announced a unifying show concept set to take place in the heart of Romania’s capital city. Titled Sound of Bucharest, the show promises to be the superstar producer’s biggest solo show in Europe. The setting for the show is Constitution Square, which provides the unique backdrop of the Palace of Parliament in full view. The locale is used for nationwide events such as New Year’s celebrations and the National Day of Romania. Concerts from AC/DC, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and more have drawn crowds upwards of 55,000. Primavera Sound Coming to Los Angeles in 2022
Los Angeles is a city for showing up fashionably late, and Primavera Sound is nothing if not fashionable. The beloved Barcelona, Spain festival had hoped to debut an LA counterpart in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to cancel last May. After a brief flirtation with 2021, festival organizers have now settled on September 16th through the 18th of 2022. The good news is that the additional year’s wait comes with an extra date, as the two-day festival expands to a three-day weekend. Primavera Sound LA will take place at the Los Angeles State Historic Park, which has a capacity of about 25,000 people. Young Thug to Star in Tiffany Haddish-Produced Rap Musical Throw It Back
Young Thug is headed for the big screen. The rapper has been cast in an upcoming hip-hop musical called Throw It Back, which will be co-produced by Tiffany Haddish. According to a press release, the film will be a “dance-filled musical dramedy set to a soundtrack of southern hip-hop and HBCU collegiate band rhythms.” Additionally, Young Thug is set to executive produce the film’s soundtrack and release it on his own label, Young Stoner Life Records.
