Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” Surpasses 1 Billion Spotify Streams

NIrvana’s game-changing single “Smells Like Teen Spirit” has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, a rare feat for a heavy rock song. The achievement comes just a few months before the band’s landmark 1991 album Nevermind celebrates its 30th anniversary. “Smells Like Teen Spirit” changed the face of rock music as the first single released from Nevermind. The song and its iconic music video helped open the floodgates for grunge and alternative rock at a time when hair metal and pop ruled the MTV and radio airwaves. The song joins Linkin Park’s “In the End” among the more than 150 tracks that make up Spotify’s “Billions Club”, most of which are of the modern pop and hip-hop variety. A few songs from Queen (“Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Don’t Stop Me Now”) are als...

Lil Nas X Claps Back at Trolls Complaining About His Kiss at the BET Awards

Talking shit to Lil Nas X on the internet is like scuba diving to kill the shark in Jaws. The man memed his way to superstardom, promoting the hell out of “Old Town Road” until it blew up on TikTok, and so when trolls took issue with his same-sex kiss at the BET Awards, Lil Nas X was more than ready. The steamy moment came during a performance of “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)”, a song about the joys of gay sex that peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The set was inspired by African royalty, and climaxed with the singer locking lips with one of his male dancers. This led some viewers to complain on Twitter, and if you’ve been following Lil Nas X for any length of time, you could almost hear the Jaws theme starting up. One user criticized his clothes, writing, “Th...

Miss Jones Alludes To Having A Threesome With 2Pac And Monie Love? [Video]

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Revolt / Revolt It seems 2Pac had a way with ladies that few men on earth will be able to relate to. Miss Jones has hinted that she and Monie Love shared the late great MC in a night of passion. As spotted on HipHopDX, the most recent episode of Drink Champs took a very interesting turn when Miss Jones reminisced about her times as an upcoming R&B talent in the 1990’s. During the podcast she was asked about the meeting Tupac Shakur. While it seems everyone who was anyone from that era has their own Pac story, her interaction was next level to say the least. “I’m gonna tell you about the party,” Miss Jones said. “So Pac came and we’re walking and it’s like the music stops. Everyone else hears the music, but I’m with Monie and he stops and he looks...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Mario Tama / Getty The rumor mill regarding Gran Theft Auto 6 isn’t slowing down at all. As with any rumors regarding the highly-anticipated 6th installment in Rockstar Games iconic Grand Theft Auto franchise, take this news with the tiniest grain of salt. As seen on DualShockers, Tom Henderson, a reliable leaker for games like Call of Duty and Battlefield, has some really eyebrow-raising info regarding GTA 6. According to Henderson, GTA 6 will take players back to Vice City and have an “evolving map,” a female protagonist, and will take place in a modern-day setting. Henderson dropped what could be considered some bombs in a YouTube video while clearing up some rumors. He claims the reason the game will take place in a modern-day setting is because of&nb...

Saweetie’s debut album, Pretty Bitch Music, was slated to release last week alongside Tyler, The Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost and Doja Cat’s Planet Her, but thanks to none other than pop icon Cher, the project was postponed and Saweetie headed back to the studio. “Me and Cher are working on a really big campaign.
