Psych-rock outfit Unknown Mortal Orchestra return today with “Weekend Run”, their first new music of the year. “Weekend Run” is an ode to the off days that rescue us from the week’s mundanities. “When the weekend comes/ Yeah, we’ll be lost in love,” bandleader Ruban Nielson sings. The five-minute track encompasses’s Nielson’s affinity for soul and disco music, backed by a chugging bassline and a danceable beat. Along with the song, UMO have shared an accompanying music video, which aptly feels like a flashback to the 1970s. Filmed by Amanda Hugenquist, it depicts Nielson going about ordinary daily activities like playing video games and making breakfast. “At the end of the day I don’t take for granted that I have the perfect job,” Nielson said in a press release. “I truly work to...
Don’t cry for the electrified future if it’s going to be filled with efficiently gorgeous 818-horsepower monsters like the 2022 Ferrari 296 GTB. Yes, this is the first official Ferrari-badged road car to employ a V-6 engine, but the brand has raced loads of them. It’s also the first hybridized Ferrari not to electrify the front axle, saving weight and maintaining the dynamic purity of rear-wheel drive. 120-Degree V-6 Hybrid, Just Like the McLaren Artura! Great powertrain-design engineering minds are likely to arrive at similar conclusions when solving similar problems, and there are indeed many similarities between the 296 GTB and McLaren Artura powertrains. The 120-degree bank angle leaves plenty of room to nestle turbos in the valley of each, and both supercar-makers em...
The innovative eBussy electric bus system from German startup company ElectricBrands will never come to be. Say it again: eBussy (insert snickers). What could have perpetually been the butt of every conceivable joke will be joked about no more. The undoubtedly sophisticated Germans who manifested the eBussy project must have concealed muffled laughs (like us) as they engineered, designed, sculpted, and meticulously labored away at the eBussy. Perhaps there were too many slip-ups during meetings. Perhaps there were too many Google-search debacles. Perhaps people just didn’t understand that eBussy was short for electric bus system. Whatever the exact reason, the eBussy name is dead, and it now identifies as the XBUS. See all 11 photos Indeed, long live ElectricBrands’ quest ...
Miley Cyrus put herself to the test by covering Madonna‘s 1989 Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 hit “Express Yourself” on her Pride special. The performance snippet is part of Miley Cyrus Presents Stand by You, which began streaming exclusively via Peacock on Friday (June 25). Filmed at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, the hourlong concert special sees Cyrus take the stage with queer country artists, such as Brothers Osborne and Orville Peck as well as allies Mickey Guyton, Little Big Town and Maren Morris. No one needed diamond rings or 18-carat gold after Cyrus stunned onstage in an embellished black mesh bodysuit. She packed some extra oomph in the song and put her back into the moves, or, as the singer herself puts it, “put the EX-tra in EX-press y...
Cooley did not respond to emails and voicemails asking her to comment for this story. This story will be updated if she contacts Billboard following publication. From 1985 to 1987, Klymaxx scored five Billboard Hot 100 hits, including “I Miss You,” which hit No. 5 on the chart; “Meeting in the Ladies Room”; and “Man Size Love.” By late 1988, Cooper, Malsby and bassist, vocalist and producer Joyce “Fenderella” Irby had left the band, leaving Cooley, Stewart and keyboardist Robbin Grider to record the group’s last album, The Maxx Is Back, which was released in 1990. In the early 2000s, Cooley fell out with her former bandmates when she unsuccessfully attempted to register the Klymaxx trademark for her sole usage — beef that was touched upon in a 2004 VH1 Bands Reunited episode. The Tru...
“When a customer searches for Adore Me’s products offered under the ADORE ME Mark, the search results return Savage’s prominent use of the ADORE US Mark in connection with a link to Savage’s website, thus falsely indicating that clicking on that link will take the consumer to a site with products offered by, authorized by, or affiliated with Adore Me,” the lawsuit reads. As a result, it argues, the company “loses the opportunity to sell its other goods to consumers.” The complaint further accuses Savage of ignoring a cease-and-desist letter Adore Me sent to the company on June 4, 2021, as well as a follow-up sent on June 8. “Though it appeared that infringing advertisements were removed on or about June 8, 2021, Adore Me learned this week that they were again in use by Defendant,” the laws...
As the countdown begins, Garcia celebrates Pride Month by telling Billboard how coming out has impacted her art and who her LGBTQ+ idol was growing up. Read the Q&A below: How did the decision to come out impact your art? I think I have never gained so much credibility in my career. That kind of credibility doesn’t come from songs or lines of thought, but rather from real authenticity. Did you ever have an LGBTQ+ idol growing up? I was always a fan of Juan Gabriel, of his versatility, of his way of composing, but above all, that loyalty to himself before anyone else. Would you say the industry is more accepting of the LGBTQ+ community compared to when you first started your career? We have taken many steps forward, but we still have a long way to go. What would you say to new art...

Marilyn Manson has will turn himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department as part of an agreement between the Gilford Police Department and Manson’s camp, according to Gilford Police Chief Anthony Bean Burpee. “What this all means for us is that – thanks to over 300,000 FB comments and shares (many besmirching our agency for even filing such charges), it has forced Mr. Warner to finally address his outstanding NH warrant, which will, in turn, allow the victim of the crime to have her say/day in Court in order to hopefully hold Mr. Warner accountable for his actions,” Burpee said in a statement.
