Mick Jenkins has unveiled his new single “Truffles”, produced by Monte Booker and available via Cinematic Music Group. The track serves as the rapper’s follow-up to his pair of 2020 one-offs, “Frontstreet Freestyle” and the Kojey Radical-assisted “Snakes”, as well as last year’s The Circus EP. The accompanying visual for “Truffles” — directed by Andre Muir — depicts Jenkins in an eerie suburban neighborhood filled with smiling, zombie-like residents that slowly transform from Black to white. “It was Goyard totes and Carhartt tees/ And atop the Coldplay carpet ’round my feet/ The Dolce scarf that’s ’round my face, forgot my mask/ Fuck,” he raps as he watches a jogger make her way down the street. Later, he’s surrounded by his creepy, dead-eyed neighbors as they invade his house, c...
Disney has long flirted with the idea of a Tower of Terror movie, but now it looks like that adaptation is finally happening for real. According to Collider, Scarlett Johansson is teaming up with Disney to produce and star in a feature film inspired by the iconic amusement park ride. Inside sources reveal that no director is attached to the project just yet. However, Johansson has tapped Toy Story 4 director and Inside Out writer Josh Cooley to pen the script based on Tower of Terror in Disneyland. The original drop ride opened in 1994 and a proper Disneyland iteration was then installed in 2004. The ride was inspired by The Twilight Zone series, but it was recently remodeled into a Marvel-themed attraction called Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout!, so who knows which v...
Britney Spears appeared in Los Angeles court on Wednesday and formally asked a judge to end her decade-long conservatorship. The pop star appeared in court virtually via Zoom, during which she made a strong case for removing her father, Jamie Spears, as conservator. She gave examples of how the conservatorship is abusive, including being put on Lithium and not being able to get married and have a baby. Update: You can read a full transcription of Spears’ remarks in court below. From the very onset of her remarks, she was on the offensive, objecting to a petition for a closed hearing: “They’ve done a good job at exploiting my life. So I feel like it should be an open court hearing and they should listen to what I have to say.” Comparing her situation to “sex trafficking,” Spears said she wa...
The newest Honda Civic sedan is already in dealerships, and the hatchback model is nigh—so, when can we expect the sporty Civic Si models to arrive? The wait won’t be long, according to leaked internal Honda documents that appeared on civic11forum.com, which reveal that the Si will closely follow the new hatch this fall. According to the timing outlined in the leak, the 2022 Honda Civic Si will reach dealerships in October, one month after the 2022 Civic hatchback. Timing for the new Civic Type R, the most powerful 11th-gen Civic variant, isn’t included in the documents. Why wait for the Civic Si? For starters, it’ll offer a manual transmission. The new Civic sedan is automatic-only; Honda has said it’ll continue to offer the three-pedal option for the Civic ha...
See all 12 photos What Makes a 911 GTS a GTS? The 911 GTS has always been a 911 Carrera with a few choice sport options added on—but they’ve often cost less than if you were to add those options individually to say, a 911 Carrera S, on your own. The 992 is no different. Starting with a standard 911, the GTS’s 3.0-liter turbocharged flat six makes 473 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. Not only is that 30 more hp and 30 more lb-ft than you get in the standard S, it’s also not too far off the 911 GT3’s 500 hp figure. Power will be sent through either an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (Porsche’s excellent PDK) or a seven-speed manual (with a 10 percent shorter shift throws than before). The mighty 911 Turbo’s braking system has been adapted...
Spears is the mother of two boys with ex-husband Kevin Federline: 15-year-old Sean Preston and 14-year-old Jayden James. In addition to Federline, Spears was briefly married to a childhood friend named Jason Alexander. She is currently dating actor Sam Asghari. Late Wednesday, Planned Parenthood Federation of America president and CEO Alexis McGill Johnson released a statement in support of Spears and her freedom to expand her family, saying the organization stands in “solidarity” with the star. “It is incredibly distressing to hear the trauma that Britney Spears has been through — including the appalling news that she has not been able to remove her own IUD,” the statement reads. “We stand in solidarity with Britney and all women who face reproductive coercio...
In his three-tweet thread, Timberlake also referenced Spears’ claim that the conservatorship hasn’t allowed her to remove her implanted IUD birth control device in order to have more children. “No woman should ever be restricted from making decisions about her own body,” he wrote. “No one should EVER be held against their will… or ever have to ask permission to access everything they’ve worked so hard for.” In his final message, Timberlake said that he and wife Jessica Biel send love and offer their “absolute support” to Spears. “We hope the courts and her family make this right and let her live however she wants to live.” Timberlake and Spears dated from 1998 to 2002 after initially meeting as kids on The All-New Mickey Mouse Clu...
It’s unclear what type of cancer Hoppus is battling, though the 49-year-old rocker is staying upbeat. “Can’t wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the near future,” he added. “Love to you all.” The outpouring of support should help him stay on track. Bandmate Travis Barker told E! News, “Mark is my brother and I love and support him. I will be with him every step of the way on stage and off and can’t wait for us to play together again soon.” Earlier in the day, Hoppus triggered alarm bells with a post, which he swiftly deleted, of himself receiving chemotherapy in a hospital room. “Yes hello. One cancer treatment, please,” reads the caption. Hoppus’ name trended as worried supporters turned to social media to rally behind the ailing music...
“Ready to Love” is lifted from Your Choice, Seventeen’s eight mini-album. The boy band has big ambitions. “The goal is to be on Billboard’s charts. We want to top the Billboard charts,” they said of Your Choice during a press conference last Friday, streamed from the Intercontinental hotel in Seoul, South Korea. The outfit also demonstrated the boisterous reaction they’d give when they do hit No. 1. Cue hollering and hands flapping. Seventeen typically release new music on a Monday, but Your Choice dropped last Friday (June 18). There’s a reason for that. They’re “targeting audiences in the U.S. and the Americas as well. And I think we’ll have more opportunities to perform on global shows,” they explained in the streaming event, which coincided wit...
