Spears, who is scheduled to take part remotely, asked for the hearing so she could address the court directly. Her court-appointed attorney, Samuel Ingham III, made the request at an April 28 hearing. He gave no indication of what the 39-year-old pop star wants to say. But in recent court filings, Spears has sought a greater say over who runs the conservatorship, and has asked that her father, who had extensive power over her life and money for most of its existence, be removed. Man Loses Hand Following Clash Between Ravers and Police in France

A violent clash between police and attendees of a rave in France has left one man with a severed hand.  It took nearly 400 officers a total of nearly seven hours to disperse the crowds of the 1,500-person rave. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, mass gatherings are still illegal in France. Advertised on social media, the event still turned out a sizable crowd to the Redon, Brittany region. According to Sky News, police showed up in riot gear and deployed tear gas in an attempt to disperse the gathering. Attendees began to pelt officers with explosives, including Molotov cocktails and firecrackers. One such explosive caused serious injury to a 22-year-old man. Legendary electronic music tandem Chase & Status have revealed a new remix for Metallica, who recently announced a special compilation covering songs from their seminal 1991 self-titled album. Chase & Status revealed that the metal icons reached out to them and gave them a choice of which track to rework from the LP, better known as The Black Album, to celebrate its 30th anniversary. They chose the raucous “Wherever I May Roam” and tapped drill-grime rapper Backroad Gee to contribute vocals. Damon Albarn Announces New Album The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows

Damon Albarn has officially announced his sophomore solo album, The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows. It’s out November 12th via Transgressive Records, and he also shared the title track and revealed rescheduled 2022 tour dates. Originally intended as an orchestral piece inspired by the landscapes of Iceland, the Gorillaz mastermind revisited the project during COVID-19 lockdown and further developed it to explore themes of fragility, loss, emergence, and rebirth.
