Courtney Barnett Announces North American 2021-2022 Tour Dates
Courtney Barnett is hitting the road this winter for a North American tour. The late-2021-to-early-2022 trek will feature opening acts Bartees Strange, Julia Jacklin, and Shamir. The 23-date jaunt kicks off on November 29th at Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas, Nevada. Barnett and her tourmates will make stops in US cities like Los Angeles, Nashville, and New York City, while also touching down in Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto. The trek closes out at the latter city’s Massey Hall on February 12th. Barnett has partnered with mental health access fund PLUS1 to support Indigenous-led organizations with a portion of proceeds from the tour. The Grand Wagoneer can be had with four-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. The 4WD Grand Wagoneer has an EPA-rated 13/18/15 mpg city/highway/combined, whereas the RWD configuration offers about the same fuel economy (albeit better on the highway) at 13/19/15 mpg. This unimpressive fuel economy should not be surprising. Warner Music Acquires David Guetta’s Recorded Music Catalog for Nearly $100 Million
When David Guetta in 2010 penned his timeless lyric, “Those will be the best memories,” little did he know those memories would fetch nearly $100 million. Warner Music has has acquired the rights to the dance music luminary’s recorded music catalog, which contains global hits “Hey Mama,” “Titanium,” and “Turn Me On,” among many others. The pact sees the music giant acquiring Guetta’s worldwide catalog from the last two decades and inking a new deal for future recordings. While the exact sum of the pact has not been publicly confirmed, the Financial Times reports that Warner spent over $100 million. David Byrne’s American Utopia Returning to Broadway this Fall
After plans for a 2020 run were called off, David Byrne’s American Utopia stage show is finally returning to Broadway this fall. The massive six-month run will begin September 17th at its new location, the St. James Theatre — the same venue hosting Bruce Springsteen’s own Broadway revival this summer. Based on Byrne’s 2018 album of the same name, American Utopia initially opened in October 2019. On stage, Byrne is joined by an 11-piece mobile ensemble playing songs from American Utopia, other tracks from his solo catalog, and Talking Heads material.
