The silent, smooth, uninterrupted torque delivery of an electric powertrain is exactly the sort of experience befitting a high-dollar, mega-luxe grand tourer. The next generation of the brand’s iconic 2+2 will feature the company’s first 100 percent electric powertrain, but that’s not all. See all 48 photos What you see here are official “spy photos” released by Maserati of its next GranTurismo, shot as it left the company’s “innovation lab” for the first time. Gang of Youths Return with New Song “The Angel of 8th Ave”: Stream

Gang of Youths are back with “The Angel of 8th Ave”, the Australian rock band’s first new song in four years. The heartland rock anthem finds Gang of Youths in their element, as they channel Bruce Springsteen and U2 on a track made to be heard in an arena. “I wanna lay me down and be lover of the year,” David Le’aupepe earnestly sings. “In this strange new town/ This strange hemisphere.” In an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Le’aupepe described “The Angel of 8th Ave” as “kind of a lightning strike.” He added, “I think we wanted those things that had kind of inertia and energy and to have that sensibility. But I think there was kind of a part of us that wanted to still tip the cap to what we’d been for so long, but also gestured to the future and gestures to the sounds that we’re ob...

Rick Ross Saves Money by Mowing His Own Lawn

Rick Ross lives in a literal mansion. The veteran rapper spends his days in a 45,000 square-foot house in Fayetteville, Georgia with 235 gorgeous acres surrounding it. That’s a lot of land to take care of, but according to a new interview, Ross actually mows his own lawn himself — and he estimates he’s saved nearly $1 million a year in the process. As Complex notes, Ross’ estate was previously owned by boxing legend Evander Holyfield. The two are similar in that they’re both ridiculously wealthy, but clearly Ross has more fiscal responsibility than the sports icon. In an interview with Forbes, Ross explained the ways in which he’s both earned and protected his income over the years, and one of the biggest ways to save is by doing things yourself. As Ross explained, “When I bought the Fayet...

Dave Grohl Recalls Nirvana’s Low Expectations for Nevermind

As Nevermind approaches its 30th anniversary, Dave Grohl looks back to when the now-iconic LP came out, admitting that Nirvana had fairly low expectations for the album’s success. They certainly didn’t expect it to become one of the most seminal albums in rock and roll history. In an interview with Uncut, friends, family, and fellow musicians told Nirvana’s members that Nevermind was going to be “fucking huge,” Grohl tells Uncut. “Donita [Sparks] from L7 came by and said we were going to be fucking huge. My old friend Barrett Jones, who I had grown up with in Virginia, who was a musician and a producer himself, heard ‘Lithium’ and said we were going to be fucking huge. He thought ‘Lithium’ should be the first single.” Attempting a balance of appreciation and denial, Grohl thought, “‘W...

Lin-Manuel Miranda Says “We Fell Short” In Response To ‘In The Heights’ Colorism Charges

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Noam Galai / Getty After much hype and excitement, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway play turned feature film, In The Heights, finally hit theaters and your HBO Max service. However, even before the film debuted many Latinos and woke brethren had a bone to pick with the casting choices as many felt that the film lacked one thing in particular: Afro-Latinos. While we can all nitpick about Puerto Rican actors playing Dominicans (Anthony Ramos a.k.a. Usnavi) and having Dominican actors play Puerto Ricans (Leslie Grace a.k.a. Nina Rosario), that’s lowkey expected given the celebrity a few of these actors already had going into this movie. But not having dark-skinned Latinos involved in any important roles and mostly relegated to dancing numbers (SMH) ultimately s...
