2022 Honda Civic Hatchback Teased Shadily, Reveals Sleeker Form

Ahead of its global premiere, the all-new 2022 Honda Civic hatchback is being dangled in front of us. Honda released a teaser image of the five-door version of the 11th-generation Civic sedan, and the latest iteration of the popular compact hatchback will officially debut during a virtual concert event later this month. Based on the partially concealed side profile photo, in which the new Honda Civic hatchback is backlit by a sunset or sunrise, we can make out its more refined body. It now has a straight beltline that stretches from the rear quarter panel all the way into the nose, much like the sedan. There is no roof spoiler; the backside appears less inflated and more slender compared to the rather clunky outgoing model. See all 25 photos The Civic hatchback will be manufactured in...

While we’re still wondering what it was that caused the passing of the likes of DMX, TMZ is reporting that Shock G’s sudden departure was due to that all too familiar drug overdose that’s claimed the lives of many of our music favorites. According to the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner, Shock G died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, ethanol (alcohol) and methamphetamine. Damn! Gareth Emery on Post-Pandemic Ticket Requests: “Guest List Is Closed”

Gareth Emery‘s guest list is officially closed. The dance music vet has taken to social media to blast those who requested free tickets to his new tour as music venues scramble to pick up the pieces in the aftermath of COVID-19. In an acerbic tweet shared today, Emery urged music fans to support their local venues, many of whom rely on ticket sales to save their businesses after succumbing to the financial pitfalls of the pandemic. “Since announcing a tour my inbox has been full of requests for free tickets,” Emery wrote. “And in normal times I’m usually the first to help someone out, and often throw random people on the list for a good reason.” “But not now,” he continued. “Clubs have been closed over a year. Many went bust. Others bar...

On Monday, Lorde took to her website to share cover artwork with the title “Solar Power.” The art showed a woman, likely Lorde herself, photographed from the ground up wearing a thong with a long-sleeve yellow shirt. “ARRIVING IN 2021 … PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE,” a message under the artwork read. A Timeline of Kid Rock’s Controversies

February 2004: Wearing the American Flag In an effort to display his patriotism, Rock cut a hole in an American flag and wore it as a poncho during his Super Bowl halftime show appearance, before throwing it into the crowd. The act was considered flag defacement and led the Veterans of Foreign Wars to file a lawsuit against CBS. February 2006: A Sex Tape Is Leaked  Two videotapes were allegedly stolen from a safe at former Creed frontman Scott Stapp‘s house and then released online depicting Stapp and Rock in a sexual encounter with four women on a tour bus during a Florida tour stop back in 1999. The two musicians successfully filed restraining orders against the company World Wide Red Light District for selling downloads o...

Ricky Martin & Paloma Mami on ‘Lit’ Collab ‘Que Rico Fuera’: ‘It’s What People Needed’

“Que Rico Fuera” — co-written by Paloma and Ricky and helmed by producers Wissem Larfaoui, Kevyn Mauricio Cruz and Juan Camilo Vargas — is a rhythmic Caribbean bop with urban-pop fusions and sultry lyrics. They describe the song as “lit,” “sabrosura” (flavorful) or, Martin’s personal favorite, “Freaky Ricky.” “My thing is to find the magic in different cultures and break barriers,” the Puerto Rican star says. “At the end of the day, I grab a bit of the rhythms that move me, turn them into my sound, and that’s the dynamic that has worked.” For both Ricky and Paloma, who recorded the song separately but met for the first time at the video shoot in California, this is just what people needed right now. “We’re in a moment where we’ve gone thr...

Nirvana’s Surviving Members Are Still Making ‘Really Cool’ Music Together, Dave Grohl Says

Though they’ve unofficially jammed before (something Krist Novoselic told us when we last spoke with him), Dave Grohl revealed to Howard Stern that not only does he get together with former Nirvana members Novoselic and Pat Smear to do that, they actually record “really cool” new music. “Krist Novoselic is a pilot, he flies his own plane… he lives up in the Pacific Northwest and whenever he comes down to Los Angeles, you know, we always love to see each other and we’ll have dinner,” Grohl told Stern. If you’re hoping to hear anything new from the musicians who once performed with Kurt Cobain in Nirvana, however, don’t get your hopes up, Grohl said. “And you know if we’re in a studio, we’ll record them. So we’ve recorded some stuff that’s really cool. But we’ve never done anything with it… ...

GWAR Announce Lust in Space and Bloody Pit of Horror Vinyl Reissues

GWAR have announced vinyl reissues of their 2009 album Lust in Space and its follow-up, 2010’s Bloody Pit of Horror. Each will be available in two color variants on July 16th. The albums were previously only issued on CD and limited-edition picture disc vinyl. The latter quickly went out of print and now go for steep prices on the secondhand market. Although collectible, picture discs aren’t known for their fidelity — the manufacturing process inherently detracts from the sound quality — so these two albums are essentially receiving their first proper vinyl pressing. Lust in Space is available in a silver variant and a clear magenta-and-purple splatter edition, while Bloody Pit of Horror comes in a black-inside-red version and an orange-red-melt edition (as seen in the image abov...

He-Man’s Abs Have the Power in First Trailer for Kevin Smith’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation: Watch

Kevin Smith and Netflix have unleashed the first teaser trailer for Masters of the Universe: Revelation, and wow, He-Man’s stomach looks like a glistening, oversized cheese grater. Fans got their first look at the revival in May, with stills of He-Man flexing with his sword and staring (erotically?) into Skeletor’s eyes. The new trailer adds movement alongside one portentous piece of dialogue, as Skeletor (Mark Hamill) sneers “Call your champion.” If you insist. From there, the 90-second clip embarks on a torrid pace of action, set to an over-the-top update of Bonnie Tyler’s ’80s classic “Holding Out for a Hero”. Meanwhile, the trailer raises several important questions, such as: Does He-Man have three rows of abs with four abs each? Why is the camera so often centered on his gro...
