Chrissy Teigen Exits Netflix’s ‘Never Have I Ever’ After Courtney Stodden Bullying Controversy

Teigen apologized to Courtney Stodden in early May after being accused of bullying them a decade ago, including telling Stodden to take their own life. Stodden had recently called out multiple celebrities, including Teigen as well as Joy Behar and Courtney Love, in an interview with the Daily Beast for harassing them on and off social media when they were a teenager. Stodden garnered fame alongside criticism in 2011 for marrying 50-year-old acting coach and The Green Mile actor Doug Hutchison when they were 16 years old. The couple divorced in 2020. “She wouldn’t just publicly tweet about wanting me to take ‘a dirt nap’ but would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself. Things like, ‘I can’t wait for you to die,’” Stodden alleged of Teigen. Teigen addressed the tweets and publicly apolo...

Brad Whitford: “I Have My Doubts About Aerosmith Ever Really Performing Again”

<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-06-05T16:52:56+00:00“>June 5, 2021 | 12:52pm ET The pandemic put a halt on the concert industry that lasted well over a year. While many bands are preparing to hit the road again this summer and fall, some veteran acts may have missed out on their last genuine opportunity to play for their legions of fans. Unfortunately, according to guitarist Brad Whitford, Aerosmith may be one of those bands. As it was, 2020 was slated to be a big year for Aerosmith. The band was set to continue its “Deuces Are Wild” Las Vegas residency well into the latter part of the year, and was also scheduled to perform a massive hometown 50th anniversary show in Boston’s Fenway Park. The 50th anniversary con...

World’s Longest-Working DJ Retires After Record-Breaking Career of 70 Years

The world’s longest-working DJ is easing into retirement at the end of an illustrious career.  Hong Kong’s Ray Cordeiro, a radio DJ with a career spanning an awe-inspiring 70 years, called it quits last month at the age of 96.  Cordeiro’s route into radio was a circuitous one, but appreciation for music was something he developed at a very young age. With a brother 10 years his senior, Cordeiro was heavily inspired by his tastes, listening to his brother’s record collection when he wasn’t home.  The start of Cordeiro’s professional career saw him working odd jobs, going from being a warden to a bank clerk. He eventually went back to pursuing his education in London, when he landed the opportunity of a lifetime to interview the Beatles...

Florida Concert Promoter Charges $18 for Vaccinated Attendees, $999 for Unvaccinated

While Florida’s government has moved to ban vaccine passports, one promoter has found a clever way to provide concert-goers an extra incentive to get vaccinated. Pop punk band Teenage Bottlerocket is performing at St. Petersburg’s VFW in late June. The promoter of the event wants to encourage attendees to get vaccinated and is offering a $981 discount on tickets for those that do. That means vaccinated patrons who can establish proof will be allowed to purchase an $18 ticket whereas unvaccinated patrons will pay $999.  Teenage Bottlerocket was sold on the idea after the promoter, Paul Williams, equated this setup to companies such as Krispy Kreme, who offered free products upon proof of vaccination, or stores like Target, who offered coupons to vaccinated patrons. It’...

“Vegas is Back” Proclaims Nightclub Attendee After Posting $8,700 Receipt Online

A couple of frivolous clubbers have violated the cardinal rule of Las Vegas, to their own detriment.  Twitter user @Investor_NICK_, a self-described tech investor, quickly learned what it’s like to ball without a budget at Sin City’s iconic Encore Beach Club. Proclaiming that “Vegas is back,” he posted a lengthy receipt from the luxury venue totaling near $8,700 in expense. We’re not sure whether it was the $1,350 bottles of Perrier-Jouet Champagne or the combined $312 of Fiji water that was ordered for the party, but something dawned on him that Wynn, the parent company of Encore, might be making a pretty penny off of his friends who evidently spared no expense during Memorial Day Weekend. Funny enough, another user, David Oro, couldn’t just sit by...

2022 Ford Maverick Small Truck Debuts Next Week, Hybrid Powertrain Teased

While it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Ford’s forthcoming compact pickup would take the name Maverick, it turns out the Blue Oval never actually confirmed that tidbit … until now. It’s official: The 2022 Ford Maverick is coming on June 8, 2021. The company also announced an ad campaign starring Gabrielle Union. Arguably the most tangible and tantalizing tidbit in Dearborn’s teaser for the Maverick comes courtesy of the truck’s tailgate badging. Look quickly at the lower left part of the tailgate around the eight-second mark of the video above and you might just notice the small “Hybrid” badge located on the pickup’s rear end. That’s right, it seems the Maverick will offer a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain right out of the g...

<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-06-04T16:23:11+00:00“>June 4, 2021 | 12:23pm ET We’re starting to think this mission might actually be impossible. As The Hollywood Reporter notes, Mission: Impossible 7 has once again shut down production, as routine testing on the UK set revealed positive COVID-19 results. Originally, star Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie had planned to produce installments 7 and 8 back-to-back, so that they could be released consecutively in 2021 and 2022. But in February of 2020, the Venice, Italy film set became one of the first to shutter during the pandemic. Production resumed last summer in the UK, with Cruise securing a governmental exemption to skip the man...

First Spin: The Week’s Best New Dance Tracks From Calvin Harris, Tokimonsta & VanJess, & More

Who here remembers 2012 to 2014? You know, when everyone from the Black Eyed Peas to Rihanna was making feel-good, dance-pop slammers for the summer? Everything was super shimmery, the beats were steady four-four rhythms and all the lyrics were about “tonight” and “this love.” Calvin Harris was the undisputed king of that era, and while he’s spent the past half-decade flexing his creative muscles, taking on everything from funk to ‘90s house, he must currently be feeling nostalgic. Indeed, Harris’ latest single “By Your Side” is an instant throwback to simpler times. It sounds like fruity cocktails enjoyed poolside, each sip numbing your brain until you forget that you’ve ever heard the terms “pandemic” or “fake news.” The sunshine single features vocals from Tom Grennan, who dance fans ma...

The stream also featured appearances from LGBTQ+ community members and advocates including Karamo Brown and Tan France from Queer Eye, Pete and Chasten Buttigieg, Busy Phillips, Demi Lovato, MJ Rodriguez, Gus Kenworthy, Jennifer Hudson, Marshmello, Nina West and Brandi Carlile. Near the end of the event, Odom offered a solemn performance of Rent‘s “Without You” in a special candlelight moment to remember the five-year anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub massacre that killed 49 people and wounded 53 more. Ricky Martin lent a heartfelt intro, noting that many of the Pulse Nightclub victims were Latinx. “Not all 49 were members of the LGBGTQ community. They were friends, lovers, families, all out celebrating their pride,” Martin shared before Odom performed. The show finale featured a sp...
