NFL Says It Will End Racist “Race-Norming” Practice In Concussion Settlement

The measure is part of a $1 billion settlement reached after a class-action concussion lawsuit went forward. The Washington Post reports that the NFL and attorneys for the league and met with the legal representation of 20,000 players in regards to the litigation that was launched and has now come to an agreeable end. Retired Lt. Col. Barnard Kempter, speaking at the event hosted by the Hudson American Legion Auxillary in Hudson, Ohio began to cite the history of how Black soldiers began the tradition in Charleston, South Carolina in 1865. Dave Chappelle Teams With Third Man Records for 8:46 Vinyl Release

Last year, Dave Chappelle surprise-released a new special following George Floyd’s murder. Titled 8:46, it was released on YouTube after being recorded on June 6 at one of the outdoor shows he hosted near his home in rural Ohio. Now, that special is coming to vinyl. Chappelle is teaming with Jack White’s Third Man Records to release a super limited edition version of the collection. The B-side will feature poet Amit Sulaiman who recites “My Insides Out” and “We Must Win,” which was also recorded in Ohio. A few weeks ago, Tom Morello and Pussy Riot joined forces for a powerful new song called “Weather Strike.” Though it seemed like a one-off at the time, the tune is part of a new EP, The Catastrophists, put together by Morello and Bloody Beetroots.  Today, another new song has emerged from that seven-song collection.
