Big Freedia, “Judas” (Lady Gaga cover) With a re-release of Born This Way on its way out, Lady Gaga decided to enlist a cadre of stars to help put their own twist on fan-favorite songs off of the album. Lucky for us, the first one to drop came straight from the Queen of Bounce herself, Big Freedia. “Judas,” a song that’s already impossibly good of its own accord, becomes an absolute banger in the hands of the Queen Diva — retrofitted with horns, choirs and a trap beat that will rattle whatever room your in, Freedia’s rendition of “Judas” is exactly the kind of shake-me-up a re-release like this should aim for. “Judas was my favorite song when it came out originally, so I really wanted to cover it. I am beyond excited that it’s...
J Balvin & Maria Becerra, “Qué Más Pues?” (Sueños Globales/UMG Recordings) J Balvin has reeled in Maria Becerra for his latest single, further proving that he not only has his eyes set on but supports fresh talent. Following his Khalid-assisted “Otra Noche Sin Ti,” “Que Mas Pues?” is a melodious reggaeton surrounded with catchy hooks left and right. At some point, Balvin even samples Aqua’s 90’s hit “Barbie Girl.” On the track, Balvin and the Argentine newcomer go back-and-forth on a relationship that didn’t work out and will never work out. A standout on this new bop is easily both of their harmonizing energy: Balvin with his distinct voice and Becerra with her dulcet vocals. Their magnetic chemistry comes out to play in the edgy m...

Via Pitchfork, Sparks’ Ron and Russell Mael wrote the screenplay and provided original music, including newly-released song “So May We Start” featuring vocals from Adam Driver, Marion Cotillard, and Simon Helberg. Annette follows a stand-up comedian (Driver), his famous opera-singer wife (Cotillard), and the opera’s conductor (Helberg), after the singer gives birth to a daughter, Annette. The project started off as a concept album with a strong narrative thrust, perhaps something along the lines...

After the Cruella star explained to Kimmel that she used to watch the 1987 John Hughes movie on repeat while growing up, Stone proved it by nailing the iconic rant from the film. During the scene, Martin’s Neal Page says variations of “fuck” 18 times while going off on a Marathon Car Rental agent (played by Edie McClurg), who gets the final word by matter-of-factly stating Page is “fucked.” The speech is the sole reason why the otherwise tame Planes, Trai...
