The iconic DJ and progressive house producer took to Twitter today to announce an upcoming concert in Los Angeles, which he said is planned for August. The tweet arrives less than two weeks after Prydz shared the news of his impending New York City takeover, a four-date Brooklyn warehouse run split between two weekends in November and December, respectively. No word yet on what kind of staging Prydz—who is renowned for his intricate live production—will be bringing to the West Coast. Fans can read the tea leaves of the recent news that his team is planning to bring his immersive “Holosphere” setup to the U.S. after signing with CAA. However, itR...

As The A.V. Club first reported, Phil and Lil’s mom Betty has been reimagined as a single mom who happens to be a lesbian. She’s voiced by Natalie Morales, star of Abby’s and known for recurring parts in Parks and Recreation and Dead to Me. Originally, Betty had a dull husband named Howard, but in retrospect, it’s easy to view her as queer-coded: a former professional wrestler, she wore her hair short and her sweaters with a prominent ‘female’ symbol. As Morales put it, “...
The electric vehicles launching between now and 2030 will be built on two new dedicated electric vehicle platforms. For context, every vehicle Ford makes today comes from one of five architectures. Ford expects 40 percent of its vehicles sold globally by 2030 will be battery-electric, so a single EV platform is not enough to handle it all, Ford CEO Jim Farley said. Two New Dedicated EV Platforms for Ford One of the architectures is a rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive platform for mid-size “lifestyle” and commercial vehicles, Hau Thai-Tang, chief product platform and operations officer, said. This is the one that would handle two- and three-row SUVs, including a fully electric Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator, which the company confirmed today. It would also underpin vehicles like...
