It’s officially Skrillex season and we all should just buckle in for safety. Just one day after releasing his first official original song since 2019, Skrillex took to Instagram to share a preview of a new joint track with Siiickbrain and Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee. The clip is short, but fans can get a taste of what sounds like a massive electronic-pop collab. In the caption he noted that he’ll release the “incoming” track once the post reaches 20,000 comments. It obviously eclipsed that goal in a matter of three hours thanks to comments from Baauer, Kaskade, SLANDER, Aazar, and virtually the entire EDM community, so fans can expect the tune to release in full soon. After his flagship Lost Lands festival sold out in the blink of an eye, Excision has now invited all headbangers to Ohio for a brand new festival called Reunion. He took to Twitter to announce the two-day bass music extravaganza, which is scheduled for July 16th and 17th at Legend Valley, the home of Lost Lands. According to a statement shared by the dubstep star, Reunion will not be a camping festival like its dinosaur-themed companion event, but there will be shuttles to and from Columbus hotels and free day parking to soften the blow for attendees traveling in. “Over the last year, the team and I have had a lot of time to get creative. The one thing we couldn’t stop thinking about was getting back to live shows and celebrating with you all,” Excision’s statement r...

Over a funky bass line, our former CoSigned artist scats and riffs her way through a tropical storm of syllables. While she often arrives at phrases such as “Well, I don’t know,” or “I’m doing fine,” these messages are besides the point. Rubinos revels in the way words sound, layering different recordings of her voice on top of one another and allowing the motion of her lips to take the ear for a ride. Via Stereogum, Rubinos said in a statement that, “It’s a gibberish spaceship ride, high speed chase, birds and stars whirring around your head...

The track was written by Bret McKenzie of Flight of the Conchords and was released via Hollywood Records. It features Cumberbatch (as Quilloughby) dueting with Yeardley Smith (as Lisa Simpson). With lyrics like “Everybody is horrid/ And my dear, I fear/ You are too,” it doesn’t sound to...

The trend towards reopening is rapidly picking up steam for the nightlife industry. Washington, D.C. is the latest major U.S. city to loosen pandemic restrictions on nightlife and entertainment venues. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser in particular has gone even further, effectively putting a date on when capacity related restrictions could be lifted altogether. On May 21st, entertainment venues—including bars and nightclubs—will be allowed to operate at 50% scale, up from the current limit of 25% which was instated earlier this year. The new limits for nightlife venues align with Bowser’s recent directive for gyms, libraries, and retail locations, which were given the go-ahead to increase capacity on May 1st.
