Ubbi Dubbi Festival went down in Texas over the weekend as one of the first normalized EDM festivals since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Considering how big of a moment it was for the dance music community, many of the festival’s performers took the opportunity to debut brand new music. Such was the case with ILLENIUM, who dropped a brand new collab with SLANDER and Krewella before a wild crowd. With it soaring future bass drop, the song has all the elements of a signature, heart-wrenching ILLENIUM tune. SLANDER, who teased the track earlier in the month of April, have gravitated towards dubstep in recent years, so fans of their older music will be delighted at the direction here. Check out a clip of the drop below. The song will appear on the future bass superstar’s upco...

In an interview with The Sunday Times, the Irish musician claimed the negative reaction to his song series is the product of freedom of speech no longer being “in the framework.” Seeming to confuse freedom of speech with freedom from criticism, Van Morrison remarked, “A few people got a petition together to end the lockdown, but nobody pays attention to petitions, do they? If I can write about it, I do. Poetic licence, freedom of speech . . . these used to be OK. Why not now? I don’t understand it. Some peopl...
Good news for Nine Inch Nails fans. After a year of composing music, it seems like Trent Reznor is ready to write some new Nine Inch Nails songs. Moments after accepting the Oscar for Best Original Score for the film Soul at Sunday night’s Academy Awards ceremony, Reznor and Ross told reporters that “We [Nine Inch Nails] should be on tour but COVID has prevented that. Ten years ago, when we did The Social Network, which is the first film that we worked on, it was such a great experience. We just came out ...
Van Morrison made his displeasure with the UK’s COVID-19 protocols very evident via anti-lockdown tracks including “Born To Be Free” and “Stand and Deliver” — and now the outspoken Northern Ireland veteran says his new songs were received negatively due to a lack of “freedom of speech. “If I can write about it, I do. Poetic licence, freedom of speech… these used to be okay. Why not now?” Morrison stated in an interview with the Times. “Just as there should be freedom of the press, there should be freedom of speech, and at the minute it feels like that is not in the framework. If you do songs that are an expression of freedom of speech, you get a very negative reaction.” The “Brown-Eyed Girl” singer wrote some of his lockdown protest tunes in collaboration with Eric Clapton, with ...
