<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-04-21T17:36:41+00:00“>April 21, 2021 | 1:36pm ET Little Simz has announced her new album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert. It’s out September 3rd via Age 101, and today she’s offered a preview with lead single “Introvert”. The British rapper vaulted into hip-hop conversations on both sides of the Atlantic with her 2019 album GREY Area, one of our favorite albums of the year. Since then she tided over fans with the 2020 Drop 6 EP, and as good as that was, her return to the long play is welcome news. For her fourth album she’s once again she’s producing alongside her longtime collaborator Inflo, and here she’s lined up feature verses from Obongjayar and Cleo Sol. To ...

Bartees Strange Covers Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love”: Stream

<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-04-21T17:43:01+00:00“>April 21, 2021 | 1:43pm ET Bartees Strange has shared a tender new cover of Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love” for SiriusXMU Sessions. Strange put himself on the map last year with his spectacular debut album Live Forever, one of our favorite records of 2020. For his appearance on SiriusXMU Sessions, he turned to the breakthrough single from Bon Iver, from a time when Justin Vernon’s project was a one-man band based in a cabin in the Wisconsin woods. Vernon is a master of melody and mood, but if there’s one flaw that’s dogged him throughout his career, it’s a style of enunciation that makes the adults in Peanuts sound like Henry Higgins. Enter St...

2023 Cadillac Lyriq First Look: Wait, This Electric SUV Isn’t the Concept Car?

How did Cadillac manage to pull the project forward by a full nine months? Testing is ahead of schedule. Reservations for the two-row, five-passenger crossover with the rakish rear window will open in September and production begins at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee in the first quarter of 2022. Oh, and the attainable pricing rings in below the $71,000 Jaguar I–Pace and the $67,000 Audi E-Tron. Not only is the Lyriq arriving ahead of schedule, but when it arrives it will look strikingly similar to the wild concept car Cadillac showed us last summer, complete with a cool new black-accented face with animated lighting, gigantic wheels, and a massive 33.0-inch curved screen inside. The public can see it in a new advertising campaign that debuts Sunday night during the Oscar awa...

Toyota GR Yaris Arrives in Mexico, Sells Out in Less Than 24 Hours

If you’re banging your head against the wall, don’t worry—you’re not alone. That was exactly our reaction when we found out that the Toyota GR Yaris—the rally-inspired, 257-hp hot hatch—would be sold in Mexico. Our neighbors to the south were so excited for this launch that the 300 units slated for them sold out in less than 24 hours. This side of the border, however, we’re sobbing. The arrival of the GR Yaris was a big announcement by Toyota Mexico, as initially there were no plans for the car to arrive to North America at all. We Yanks have been begging for the GR Yaris to reach our shores, but so far, the answer has been no. Bob Carter, executive vice president of sales for Toyota Motor North America, told us last year that, “The U.S. and North America have...

His recently released “Tu Veneno” (March 19), which is also part of Balvin’s forthcoming album, holds at No. 9 for a second week after its No. 6 debut and peak (April 3-dated tally). Khalid, who secured his first Billboard Hot 100 chart entry with “Location” in 2017, makes his Hot Latin Songs chart debut with “Otra Noche Sin Ti.” He’s one of a number of primarily English-language recording artists to make their Hot Latin Songs debut straight into the top 10 in the past 12 months. He follows Snoop Dogg, Travis Scott, 6ix9ine, Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Doja Cat and Sia. (All but 6ix9ine scored their debuts through a collaboration with an established Spanish-language recording artist.) “Otra Noche” concurrently debuts on both Billbo...

Crab Exits ‘Masked Singer’ With Claws Held High: ‘It Was Just About Pure Fun’

Robin Thicke was close, suggesting former New Edition member and solo star Johnny Gill or perhaps “Ghostbusters” singer Ray Parker Jr., while Jenny McCarthy thought it might be Public Enemy rapper Flavor Flav and Nicole Scherzinger ended up being wayyy off base with her suggestion that it was either Kanye West or Keith Sweat. Ken should have stuck with his initial guess of former New Edition and solo star Bobby Brown, who was indeed the sensitive, emotional crabmeat under that hard blue and purple exterior. The night’s other eliminated singer was Sister, Sister star Tamera Mowry. Billboard spoke to Brown before his elimination to find out what happened the night he had to run offstage and why he’s psyched that his kids are now going to learn that titanic drum break ...
