HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Theo Wargo / Getty It’s been a hot minute since we’ve heard Hip-Hop OG Common drop any new work what with the countless other career moves he’s been making for the past few years, but the man was an MC first and reminds us of that fact today. Coming through with some new visuals to “What Do You Say,” the Chicago artist links up with PJ to have a grand ol’ time at a roller rink with some grown women who appreciate some good roller skates. Roll Bounce sequel in his future or nah? Y’all know Bow Wow would be down. Lakeyah meanwhile may not roll with skates but she rolls with wheels and for her Gucci Mane assisted clip to “Poppin,” Lakeyah assembles a team of sexy young women to ride shotgun before turning up at the strip club. Watch it below. Yorke’s 20-minute piano set included the live debut of “Videotape”, which later found its way on Radiohead’s In Rainbows. He also played future In Rainbows B-sides “Last Flowers” and “Down Is the New Up”, as well as “Analyse”, from his 2006 solo album, The Eraser. Today’s upload is part of the band’s most recent effort to bring rare footage to their YouTube channel. This newest run launched last week with a January...
<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-04-14T20:01:42+00:00“>April 14, 2021 | 4:01pm ET Last fall, London punk five-piece Chubby and the Gang signed to Partisan Records and revealed that they were penning a new album. Now, the band returns to the spotlight to share “Lightning Don’t Strike Twice”, a brand new single available as a 7-inch that will also supposedly appear on their next record. Stream it below. “Lightning Don’t Strike Twice” is a riveting dose of pub rock set to the tune of class struggles. Across the song’s three-minute runtime, Chubby and the Gang sprint through punk riffs with enough gang hollers and zippy guitar lines to recall Thin Lizzy. That vibe comes to life in the single’s accompanying music video....
<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-04-14T21:54:39+00:00“>April 14, 2021 | 5:54pm ET South London multi-instrumentalist and producer Wu-Lu, aka Miles Romans-Hopcraft, has unveiled a simmering new song titled “Times”. Wu-Lu self-produced the track, which features drumming by Morgan Simpson of black midi. It quietly rages beneath the surface like turn-of-the-century alternative rock, but never reaches the thrashing crescendo of his previous single, “South”. As he explained in a press statement, the song is about self-discovery and coming of age in these turbulent times. He said, “It’s of understanding that with time comes wisdom. Living life teaches us everything we can to bounce back, we are made of more than...
<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-04-14T22:06:45+00:00“>April 14, 2021 | 6:06pm ET Today is the 82nd anniversary of John Steinbeck’s classic Dust Bowl epic The Grapes of Wrath. To honor the occasion, Weezer have shared a new music video for their OK Human ode to literary excellence, “Grapes of Wrath”. The song doesn’t just shout-out Steinbeck, it also finds time for some of the most famous creations by Virginia Woolf, George Orwell, Joseph Heller, Herman Melville, J.R.R. Tolkien, and more. But the music video, which was directed by Brendan Walter and Jasper Graham, is less concerned with exploring these fictional worlds than the real-world problem of finding time to read. The video begins with Ri...
Weezer is back with a brand new video for “Grapes of Wrath,” the latest single off of OK Human, three months after the band put out “All My Favorite Songs” in the buildup to the January release. The relatable video focuses on all of the things one can do (realistic or not) while avoiding the dreaded Zoom video meetings of this past year, and it’s pretty much exactly what you would expect from the 29-year-old band after they (presumably) spent most of the last year in quarantine. Check out the new video below. [embedded content] Of course, the release of the video coincides with their upcoming livestream this Friday (April 16) at 6pm PT, in which Rivers Cuomo and crew will join the LA Philharmonic and YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles) at the legendary Walt Disney Concert Hall to ...
