Dave Grohl to Publish First Book

Unable to tour due to the pandemic, Dave Grohl kept busy during the early months of quarantine by publishing short stories from his life to an Instagram page dubbed “Dave’s True Stories”. His tales recounted a 4th of July fireworks display gone horribly wrong; a wild story involving Pantera and a strip club; and the time he got to jam with Prince. Now, Grohl intends to compile these stories and more in his first published book. Entitled Dave Grohl: The Storyteller and set for release on October 5th, the 304-page book is described by Grohl as “a collection of memories of a life lived loud. In the MTV promo video, Carey is walking on a treadmill in a black tank top and shorts, accented by matching high heels, of course, next to her adorable dog, who is strolling on a matching machine while rocking a red sweater. As she works her arms back and forth, Carey snaps a heel and exclaims, “S–t! I can’t even believe this. Clubhouse’s new direct payments let users pay creators

Social audio app Clubhouse will let all users pay other creators starting Monday. It’s the first monetization tool built right into the app. Clubhouse says it won’t take a cut of payments, meaning that creators get the entirety of what somebody sends them. Not everyone will be able to receive payments just yet, though; that will be rolling out in waves, “starting with a small test group,” Clubhouse says. To pay a Clubhouse creator who can receive payments, tap on their profile, then tap on the “Send Money” button, and then choose how much you send them. You’ll also have to pay a “small card processing fee” that goes to Stripe, which is Clubhouse’s payments processing partner. The first time to try to pay someone, Clubhouse will ask you to add a credit or debit card. The news of direct paym...

The Beat Goes On: Watch Black Keys’ Patrick Carney Fill In for Cleveland Indians Drummer

Carney was thrilled to be able to sit in for Adams. “I’m stoked to be here for John,” Carney said about two hours before the Indians hosted the Kansas City Royals at Progressive Field. “It’s the best seat in the house and I wish John could be here, obviously. When I heard he wasn’t healthy enough to make it, I thought it was good way to pay some respect to him and show him some love.” Before he could begin banging away, Carney was bestowed drumming duties by Adams during a video presentation in the first inning. Carney said he attended his first Indians game in Cleveland when he was “5 or 6” and that one of his close friends who accompanied him to that game decades ago was attending the opener. Like so many musical acts, Black Keys haven’t on a stage since just before the COVID-19 pandemic...
