Fonsi echoed what we were all thinking, responding, “Oh, come on, you have to cover it now!” “I have practiced so hard, because I love singing in Spanish as well, or just in different languages,” Clarkson said. “And it’s, like, the biggest song of all time. You’re kind of like, ‘You know what? I’m gonna leave that alone,'” she laughed. She’s right about “Despacito” being a massive song: The song’s bilingual remix, featuring Justin Bieber, spent 16 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, tying the then-record (Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day”) for longest stay at the top. Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, has since spent 19 weeks at the...
Steve Sadow, counsel for T.I. and Tiny, provided a statement on the Harrises’ behalf to Billboard on Monday (April 5): “The Harrises are still waiting for the accusers to reveal themselves publicly. By continuing to hide behind anonymous allegations, the unnamed accusers effectively render themselves not credible and unworthy of belief. We say: Let the light shine on their identities so we can go about disproving these scurrilous accusations.” In February, The New York Times reported that Blackburn was seeking a criminal investigation and approached law enforcement authorities in Georgia and California on behalf of 11 people claiming they were victimized by the couple or their entourage. The alleged incidents occurred between 2005 to 2018 and...
HipHopWired Featured Video A few weeks ago Freddie Gibb’s took an L on Grammy night when he lost the “Best Rap Album” award to the Queensbridge King, Nasty Nas, but the Gary Indiana rapper took it all in stride and in his latest offering even borrows some tunes from the OG Hip-Hop Icon. For the visuals to “Big Boss Rabbit,” Gibbs holds it down in his garage while rapping over a beat that sampled Nas’ classic cut “You’re Da Man.” Well, technically that song sampled “Sugar Man” but y’all know what we mean. And just when you thought Iggy Azalea was done with the game she returns with some new visuals to the Tyga assisted “Sip It” where she turns a regular convenience store into a strip club with slushes. We wouldn’t trust those kind of beverages in a place like that. Just sayin.’ Check out th...

The recently launched Lost Tapes of the 27 Club project uses AI software to create songs in the style of musicians who died at the age of 27. One of the featured tracks is called “Drowned in the Sun”, and it comes pretty close to replicating a Nirvana song written by Kurt Cobain himself. Stream it below. With opening guitars starting out restrained before reaching a crescendo on the chorus, the track is reminiscent of Nirvana’s signature hit, “Come as You Are”. Its chorus sounds like something Cobain might have written, too, with lyrics like, “I don’t care/ I feel as one, drowned in the sun.” As explained in a Rolling Stone feature, Google’s AI program Magenta was used to analyze the pioneering grunge band’s music and create the instrumental track. An artificial neural network was then use...
