The Indians will use a pinch-drummer for their home opener. With longtime drummer and ballpark fixture John Adams recovering from heart surgery and unable to attend his first opener in Cleveland in 48 years, Black Keys drummer and lifelong Indians fan Patrick Carney will fill in and pound away from the left-field bleachers at Progressive Field during Monday’s game against Detroit. “When I found out that John Adams wouldn’t be able to make Opening Day in Cleveland for the first time in almost 50 years, I reached out to the team,” Carney said. “I share John’s love of baseball and the Cleveland Indians franchise, and drumming for him during the home opener when he can’t physically be there feels like a meaningful way to show John the love and respect he deserves. You Deserve to Make Money Eve...

Back in 2008, ANOHNI released a song titled “Another World” while fronting her former band Antony and the Johnsons. Now, the track has received a new string rearrangement for The National’s Bryce Dessner and Australian String Quartet’s new album, Impermanence/Disintegration, made in collaboration with the Sydney Dance Company. “Another World (String Arrangement)” closes Impermanence/Disintegration, and is the sole song on the project to feature vocals. ANOHNI’s haunting vocals and sobering lyrics hit even harder on the new version. “I need another place/ Will there be peace?” she sings. “I need another world/ This one’s nearly gone.” The new music video is an excerpt from the Sydney Dance Company’s hour-long dance work that premiered in Sydney in March 2020. Both the album’s music and acco...
Fucked Up have released “Year of the Horse — Act Three”, the third track off the Toronto punk band’s upcoming EP celebrating the Chinese Zodiac. Stream it via Bandcamp below. “Year of the Horse — Act Three” clocks in at a whopping 22 minutes (!) and is structured like a play. It’s theatrical and dramatic — which is par for the course so far with this EP, considering it comes with extensive liner notes — and sees singers Maegan Brooks Mills and Tuka Mohammed sharing their duties with frontman Damian Abraham. Unlike the first and second tracks from Year of the Horse, though, this new act features vocals by a surprise guest: Matt Berninger of The National. Needless to say, it makes for an unexpected listen. As per tradition, Year of the Horse is part of Fucked Up’s ongoing series tied to...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: MEGA / Getty Both Saweetie and Quavo have addressed the now-infamous footage of them getting into a physical altercation near and on an elevator last year. The former says they moved on after the incident and it had no bearing on their relationship’s failure while the latter asserts he was never physically abusive. The video in question showed the now ex-couple essentially battling over what seemed like a Call Of Duty-branded video game system. The 90-second clip led to debate on Twitter over whether or not Saweetie was seen hurling fists at Quavo while the rapper allegedly flung her into the elevator, which caused a visible limp when she eventually walked out. What was seen was enough to reportedly cause LAPD to investigate. Saweetie was the first of tho...
