The auction for Lindsay Lohan’s new NFT has concluded with a winning bid of 85,484.09. No, this is not an April Fools’ joke. Lohan’s NFT (non-fungible token) sale comprised a motion graphic featuring animated butterflies that flap their wings in unison with a digitized Lohan’s blinking eyes. The artwork is soundtracked by a new song called “Lullaby” in which she sings over an electronic beat produced by Manuel Riva. Founded in 1969 by music producer João Araújo, Som Livre initially focused on releasing soundtracks for Globo’s soap operas and continued to specialize in compilations. A decade ago, the label shifted its strategy to developing and managing artists and became the largest producer of music in Brazil, where local music represents almost 70% of total consumption. Today, the label is home to more than 80 artists, including massive sertanejo act Jorge & Mateus, forró star Wesley Safadão and Latin Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Maria Gadú. Take a listen to “The Melting of the Sun” below. The song was co-produced with Jack Antonoff, who also plays multiple instruments. Kenya Hathaway (Donny Hathaway’s daughter) and Lynne Fiddmont provide backing vocals, while Doveman plays the organ. Lyrically, “The Melting of the Sun” pays homage to St. Vincent’s “inspirations — musical, personal and other,” according to a press release.
